When I asked Ralph Fulton on Twitter about a limited edition FH2 he said ‘No LE planned - the Day One Edition is available for pre-order now. Don’t miss out! Exclusive cars/liveries included.’ This is bad news to me because that’s what I was waiting for but I guess I’ll go out and pre order the day one edition today.

This is good to know. I’m holding off to try the demo before I pre-order.
I need to decide which Pre-order Bonus Car i want… either the 2008 Ferrari California from game or the 2013 BMW M6 Coupe from amazon!
I say get the 2013 M6 and eventually the pre order bonus cars will probably be a dlc. 
I would choose the Ferrari myself, but so far none announced for the 360 version.

That’s a bummer about the LCE, I was hoping there would be one; well, I guess no crown next to my gamertag in FH2, then again it is going to be on 2 different generation consoles so that would make some sense.
man… no limited edition, no preorder cars for 360 what are they doing with this game…

… That doesn’t make any sense? Because I thought they had pretty much already confirmed a Limited Collectors Edition in the E3 Gameplay Trailer.
At the end of the trailer when it shows the Day One pre-order bonus cars, it says in fine print at the bottom “Day One Edition Cars Available Only for Xbox One Version, Inside Marked Packages of Day One Or Limited Collectors Edition.”
I’ll believe it when someone from T10 or Playground officially announces it.

He could possibly just be saying that because aren’t announcing it just yet? I’m gonna wait before I pre-order, just to be sure.
So what is there?
Just the regular Day One Edition with the 3 exclusive livery cars, and possibly a pre order bonus car from participating retailers.
Its possible that retailers are treating “Day One” editions as a limited edition. Technically speaking it is.
This sucks, even when the LCE editions have been getting worse and worse since the first Horizon game, both Forza Horizon and Forza 5 limited edition sucks soo bad.
I am genuinely surprised.
