As stated in this Q&A by TC9700Gaming (see here), there won’t be interior customization in Forza Horizon 4.
This feature was requested by alot of people and games like The Crew manage to have this feature, as well. Sad to see that Forza is unable to make any progress on this.
I kinda don’t wanna get my hopes and expectations up for the rest of the customization, since it’s probably limited to Liberty Walk/Rocket Bunny and Drift Mumbo Jumbo…
Think about how many cars they would have to re-model the interiors for, some of them could have 10 or so options irl. That’s probably your answer as to why it hasn’t been done. The Crew 2 has over 100+ vehicles I believe. FH3 has over 450. That’s probably a minimum of 4 times the cars to model various interior customization for.
I hear you, but would give much more credence to your argument if Forza actually did full-scale interiors, instead of the floating dashes we’ve had since FM3. I would understand the lack of customization if it meant having to remodel seatbelts, seats, door cards, etc. But a new 3D sprite of an aftermarket Momo wheel or something on a single-pane dash? Doesn’t seem like too much of an ask to me after all these years.
Barely any re-modelling needed at all. If I want my dashboard or steering wheel e.g. in Alcantara that is simply a change of material, just as it is with paint. Same goes for interior trim. Stitching can be done with a color-slider, so this isn’t too much effort either.
For 90% of the time I’m driving in 1st person view, so I’m quite saddened they jumped this issue once again
Curious to see, if they give us at least more aero options than the Forza aero from years ago.
Barely any remodellimg needed at all? Dang. Maybe you should submit your resume to PG it T10 and work there. I bet they could use your expertise in coding and designing.
As an IT consultant I have to listen to customer’s opinions, so PG and T10 are a no-go for me in these terms
I could imagine that the videogame industry is probably one of the worst industries to work in anyways.
But even if they had to re-model a bunch of stuff - so what?
All the praise about ‘next-gen’ and we are still stuck with Xbox 360-era customization? This is honestly laughable.
If they spent more focus on cars instead of e.g. character customization (which I’ll probaly see even less than the interior) they could put a lot more actually requested customization into the game…
Personally, I just feel that Forza is getting more and more FIFAfied, meaning that there is a new iteration every year and there is barely any ‘groundbreaking’ progress to the previous one. But their new features are then mentioned over and over again in every single interview and sold like they singlehandedly revolutionized the whole industry - ‘dynamic puddles’ in FM6 anyone?
Actually, for the most part, he is not wrong. Materials are not too hard to change. The only real programming they would need to do is integration between the color of an object and a slider to control that from. If it was just color, anyways. If you want to change the 3D objects and how they appear in shape, that would be a lot more involved and tedious.
Seems like a rather pointless request to me, especially since the game has no mouse-look and the interior of the car is barely noticeable, especially when you’re tearing around.
The exterior? That’s another matter.
Interior customization would be cool, but I would rather see a 360 degree view from the INSIDE of my car when using first person camera. Most other games that I have seen (including FH3) just show a bit less than a 150 degree arc forward and to the sides, but if you try to rotate the camera any further towards the rear, now the cam jumps outside and you can’t see any of the car at all. We know from Forzavista that they do in fact model the entire interior, so why can’t they just include that into 1st person view.
Ditto I buy the games to drive like the clappers arround the country side leaping canyons and lakes in a single leap as well as rocketing down the freeway having a big tree stop me dead and surrive it with out a scratch not so I can have a Car dealership where I can see every colout and trim option for a certin car.
I’d rather not have the option, it would probably cause more problems than solve.
I must be playing Forza wrong, I just concentrate at the track/road. Interior/Exterior views have never been why I play Forza. Each to their own I suppose.
I’d rather they keep adding to the exterior. The series is over a decade old and we still cannot change exhaust tips. There’s only ever a single wing available, and then possible aftermarket aero in select cars.
Widebody kits were a terrific improvement for FH3.
The basic insistence of having interior changes would - as is every depiction of the vehicles - need to be negotiated with the manufacturers. It is not something Playground Games or Turn 10 can do on their own.
