No collisions multiplayer lobbies - PLEASE

Can they not just add some to the list because right now it’s near impossible to enjoy a race without people smashing into each other (on purpose).
I thought, ah I know I’ll create my own one and wait for people to turn up - er, what’s happened, it’s purely private now ?
I’m guessing this’ll get locked as I’ve probably missed a big thread on it but perhaps the dev’s should try playing the game as a normal punter would do, doesn’t take long to work out what would be useful to add.

I miss the user created rooms but that didn’t stop “them” from showing up. I did a C class ghost league, and yeah, the only person that could ruin your race was you but, you could also pass someone by driving right through them…not exactly what I call racing. After voicing my opinion on these forums I was instructed to save replays when it was the same players that were doing the wrecking and send the replays to him. While I appreciate this person for trying to help, that just seems like a lot of work. So, what is the answer? My idea was forcing simulation damage and that would…in time…solve the problem, or at least cut it way down. But, as they say, it takes 2 to tangle and the sim damage would penalize both, or more often than not all 15 or so cars involved. I’m hoping that this thread does not get locked because I feel it is a major concern for a lot of players and maybe more threads about this issue will see us closer to a solution

Most people miss the custom lobbies, I know I do. But I don’t expect to see then anytime soon. But in the meantime, report and block the rammers on Xbox live. And you can do the league races. One of them it’s ghost only.

They’ll probably cycle the collisions off lobby around. It’s how it mostly worked in 5, although it was mostly set at C. Do agree there should be one for every class unless they can figure out a way that works that dumps the never ending stream of trolls. Not holding my breath on either though.

(I know I’m repeating myself here)

I’ve been playing the League ghost lobby thing today, and whilst I agree it’s not quite the same as having collisions on, I do feel it’s still good fun and enjoyable. And at least you are the only one responsible for making mistakes !

Just adding the no collision lobbies in each class has to be a very simple addition to implement.
As well as custom lobbies that can be open to the public.

Of course, making XBL friends and finding the right people to race with is all well and good but I only have certain times I can play in my schedule .

Just seems a little short-sighted.

A beginner lobby for each class would be nice. Maybe that would help clear out the wreckers from the regular hoppers.

I would just like to point out that no collision racing is just glorified hot lapping. There are alot of people that are fast but not all those people know how to race.

I agree but it doesn’t mean that is better or worse.
It’s a game, we should have some choice.
At the end of the day, this isn’t real racing either, nothing like going over to Spa or up to Silverstone for a track day LET alone actually racing. (thank god because it’s ruddy expensive  )

I’ll keep trying some lobbies but I fear it’s still going to be brutal smashing.

I have many problems with people hitting each other:

A) People use other cars as their brakes going into corners so instead of braking for the corner they just go in 40% too fast and smash into you and then continue on.

B) If you lap people they should be ghosted from you, I can’t tell you how many times I have been in 1st or 2nd or something and then come up on some guy I’m about to lap and they just hit you and you get destroyed and end up in 6th, it is utter BS.

C) When you’re passing someone on a straight, 80% of people won’t accept that so they try and take you out. I don’t care if you block, but don’t hit me.

D) If you’re in a fight for position, 95% of people don’t play clean, they will always just hit you rather than battle it out. I was battling one guy a few races ago and we were both racing clean for 2 laps battling neck and neck and I beat him out at the last corner. It is so much fun when you do this, but unfortunately it never happens.

E) People who literally are in the race to do one thing, hit you.

It is beyond ridiculous how stupid people are online.

I fully agree with what you guys are saying, I race in the leagues a lot as well. But the way I see it, for every 10 idiots online there is 1 decent fellow as well. I already had a few really nice experiences in the leagues where you just feel you have a great player driving besides you. You can drive wheel to wheel without bumping each other off and you feel this mutual respect for each other. That means a lot more to me than winning a race.

Example 1 - On friday I had a really exiting race where we were fighting for 12th place with 4 cars, swapping positions back and forth but nobody bumped anyone off or drove bad, everyone gave each other space in corners. Eventually I lost this duel in the final turns (due to my own mistake), slipped behind a little and finished 15th.
Example 2 - Yesterday I won a 6-lap race way ahead of the rest and I was leading from early on in the first lap. Felt like I was just doing laps on my own.
Which race do you think was most exiting and most fun?

I’m a respectful driver myself as well, I don’t care so much for the place I finish, I care much more about having a decent race and the good feeling I described above. if I make a mistake and brake too late, I rather dive into the barriers myself than bumping against another player and pushing them off, or leaning against them. A good example is the first corner on Catalunya national, the braking line is a bit too short there and a week ago or something I was braking way too late and would have bumped into the player before me. So I let off the brake so I could steer (no ABS) and I turned to the left (away from the corner) and ended up way too far on the grass. I know a lot of people would just use the car in front of them to brake but that is just so wrong, deal with your own mistakes!

Even in the Non-collision rooms good races are often ruined by the corner cutters. Let me complain about inadequate use of technology yet again, multiplayer matchmaking, how many 35+ year old players are corner cutting and ramming people, not alot is my guess. 13 years into xbox live and matchmaking still doesn’t take age of the account holder into consideration. smart matchmaking is simply a buzzword, just like your recommended friends, just promotional crap for frequent broadcaster’s on twitch.

I’m sure there is a huge 35+ volume of gamers. Those are the people I want to play against. They will have at least some respect for themselves (not cheating) and others (not ramming into you), most likely.

TURN 10 should put their collective brains together and come up with a solution for this. You all have created a stellar racing sim that stands out from the rest, so how about figure out something to mitigate this intentional ramming nonsense. Maybe you have something you can dial down for car to car contact? Maybe you can start tracking users that consistently punt cars on turn 1? There is an unfortunate mix of real racers and hooligans almost EVERY SINGLE TIME, and you never know who the hooligan is until it’s too late.

Well after finding the Sim S-Class lobby, I pretty much spent the weekend on that (I was ill, don’t judge me :stuck_out_tongue: ).
Yes it was massively different, and at times frustrating with people smashing into each other but overall, wowza - very exciting, and without a doubt my best experience of Forza online in the last 10 years !

they could put sim damage on for the fronts of cars in vehicle to vehicle contact, that makes it the overtakers responsibility to do it clean an if they cant they suffer an will gradually promote clean driving. also give more points for clean an good driving rather than smashing stuff up, horizon granted but im sure im not the only one that has both games, had a year of being rewarded for being a twat ! makes no sense to me on any level
