New Leagues: D400 Sim (MX-5 '16) | B600 Ghosts (AWD) | S800 Formula E (stock)

If one need to go away, then sim league should stay. In higher division, players should have the skills to stay clean while driving fast. Players need to know the consequences of driving dirty.

I have to say I realllllly enjoy the spec and Sim leagues we have been getting lately.

Without getting into how I know and what data I have, Pinnacle and Elite are a good gauge. Until Sim League can be consistent with drivers, then it can start traveling down the chain. If those two groups are still sorting it out, I’m not going to throw it on the lower ones. Once we find the sweet spot with types of cars and classes that hits a good balance for skill and clean driving then it should move. The goal ultimately would be to have it on all divisions for Leagues. That said, lets she how the division adjustment works out and go from there.

That’s fair, I suppose. But as a lower level drive who tries really hard to race clean and keep the car on the track, I still feel like I’m getting “shafted” because I’m either too slow or I refuse to cheat.

I don’t expect you to do anything with that, but since you’re reading these posts I’m simply happy to be able to provide feedback.

The corner cutting is just out of control in the S class V8 supercars. Really getting tired of this. I generally did well but there are so many cutters. The second a track where they can’t cut comes up they leave. What is this doing to my truskill? Is a corner cut win counting against me? If so that is completely not fair, Do something about this Turn 10. You can’t ban everybody, at least 12 of a 24 lobby were doing it and that was the only lobby. Where does that leave a clean racer?

So far the Formula E league is great. Super competetive but it is a little hairy until the tires come up to temperature.

Some interesting leagues again this week. Not sure whether I’ll participate or not yet. I fully accept that leagues can’t be tailored to suit my needs every week! That said there has been a lot of variety to keep most of us pleased some of the time.

The Sim leagues are a great idea and might i suggest that if they were opened up to lower divisions that a general C or D class league would be a good start.

Whilst on the subject of variety I’ve got to say I think a “Ghost League” every week is a terrible waste. If people want to take part in social hotlapping as opposed to real racing a better idea would be to change the general ghost hopper every week. I don’t know if Turn 10 are aware that people are legitimately using Ghost leagues to up their rating in order to get in to a higher division for collision-on racing and to be able to enter the sim leagues in Pinnacle and Elite. I don’t think I need to explain the consequences of this.

Whilst I prefer the collision leagues myself, ghost leagues sometimes provides a welcome relief when crashes in other leagues start to raise the blood pressure and some “cool off” is needed… However, I cannot see a problem if people using ghost league to raise their division. The current true skill system will knock them back very quickly if they are out of their league. Only down side I noticed from ghost leagues is that it let people forget what proper race etique in collision racing is. BUT then it also seems that there are many many others that forgot same without any previous visit to ghost leagues.

I do agree that there should be a permanent ghosted hopper that changes every week. Other than the ghost league the only other option for ghosted racing is the C class ‘beginners’ hopper which is pretty stale as far as track selection goes imo.

I definitely agree with starting out lower ranked players in slower class cars for sim leagues. Let em’ get the hang of the sim settings with the slow cars and as they get better the faster classes are unlocked. Also leave the slower classes open to top tier players if they want to race slower classes. More spec leagues though, theyre awesome. Real test of tuning and driver skill…at least thats how its been with Formula E so far.

Can anyone please confirm that ManteoMax’s reference to “stock only” also means that no tuning is allowed. I know upgrades are forbidden, but not sure about the tuning. I assumed from previous posts by PJ Tierney and IVORBIGUN that tuning is also out, but not so sure anymore after one or two posts around.

Looking at the lobby options for both, I see “Force Stock Upgrades and Tuning” is set to “Yes”.

Thanks PJ

In Fomula E and Mazda league, if a custom setup is applied to the car, it is shown in the players stat. Don’t know if the setup does apply during race. If you go to a player having a public setup listed, there is no option available “download tune”. Would be worth a test if a setup does apply during league race.

From my point of view, it is calles Sim-League, so tweaking what is available for stock parts should be allowed - No real Formula E driver would go for race using stock settings … By the other hand, no tweaking allowed would make it more driver skill focused.

For the MX-5:

I can confirm that tire pressure tuning is allowed, but NO upgrades can be applied, not even rims. I also noticed there is some redundancy in that, if you choose your stock car, it will ask to upgrade it to D400. It will then proceed to tell you it’s illegal and downgrade it again. A bit annoying, but choosing “race anyway” bypasses this.

Stock Miatas sounds great, hopefully I can jump on today.

Tried it out from 10 to 12 today, pretty good racing except the normal amount of wreckers and those who constantly cut corners. Very frustrating when you’re trying to run clean to get beat by those running dirty lap on purpose or those “leaders” who wreck you instead of trying to pass you clean. Ashame that the only way to enjoy the racing is to stay patient and pray you can avoid all the carnage around you.

This league is pretty much a copy and paste of the ‘S2000 league’ a few weeks ago, except mistakes have much greater consequences. I ended my day on top of the points, we shall see how far I fall down the order by tomorrow afternoon.

Edit: Got back on and I have to admit, I’m really frustrated and I mean REALLY. Every race for about an hour I get bashed off by some “Hero” forcing me to hotlap for 8 laps and start on the front row the next race, where it all happens again. There is no respect in this racing and surprisingly nobody gives space. The new guys need a crash course in clean racing and the ‘regulars’ need a refresher. I’m still not a fan of sim damage, but I guess I’m a minority.

My first impressions of the MX5 sim league are, while its fairly clean and quite fun now I think in a few days of only driving a MX5 it is going to become quite boring, I wish it would have been cycled production. Even if it was just D class cycled there would have been some variety.

Edit: I’ve now done 22 races tonight and I’ve had enough of driving the same car. At least with the so called S2000 league the car was a bit more fun to drive, and faster, I won’t be doing more than an hour or so each night this week. I’m not sure formula E is my thing either, I’m used to having a combustion engine to listen to, I can’t hear that one.

It’s good we’re getting some of what we’ve asked for from T10 and I’m grateful for that, but I really think cycled production is the way to go. Just my opinion, of course.

Can we have more than 2 choices? How about 5 or something. I don’t want like either league this week and will not be participating which sucks
