New features and missing features?

So, I just watched the trailer and the gameplay demo. I realize that this is still early. Having said that, I’ve gone through this link:

…and noticed a few positives…including the “new” or returning “car drops”. If this works the way I think it will, I’ll be able help newer players out with with car gifting, like I’ve done in the past. This assumes that tuning is even in horizon 5.

I’m holding out on pre-ordering this time, TBH. Until I see proof of Rivals, tuning and classes, then I won’t be committing as much time creating things for the community. Horizon 5 will turn into one of those “get the most achievements and move on“ games for me otherwise. I’ve managed to snag a Series X but haven’t used it yet.

The other concern is how the One S version will perform, which is my current system.

Anyone else wondering about potential missing features? Is it a concern for people?

My concern is about the livery editor.
They haven’t revealed any details yet, but from their description it seems as if they have modified the system to an svg import style like GT Sport.

If this is indeed the case, and not just an unwarranted fear of mine, then that could be the biggest reason for me not to buy this game.

Why? There are several reasons.

First of all, vector graphics software inevitably presupposes paid software such as Adobe Illustrator, which creates a “pay to good livery” situation.
There is also a free software called Inkscape, but it is much less functional and efficient than a software like Illustrator.
And on my PC, this software suffers from terrible bugs, crashes, freezes, and does not work properly.

Also, these tools would be a dream tool if you just want to import a simple logo downloaded from the Internet.
However, when it comes to recreating the complex illustrations that I usually create, these vector graphics software are much more labor intensive and time consuming than the current Forza tools.
And creating such complex illustrations inevitably means that the data size of the working file will increase, which inevitably requires a high-performance PC with plenty of memory and CPU specifications.
Yes, it’s “pay to good livery” again.

And finally, if they do adopt these tools, what will happen to the literally hundreds or thousands of hours of work that we painters have put into our past creations?
Can we import them? Or is it all just a waste?

Of course, there is no doubt that GT Sport style software will benefit many people.
People can easily put aftermarket logos downloaded from the Internet on their cars. It would be a dream change for them.
Download, upload, paste. There are svg files of famous aftermarket logos like HKS and Greddy all over the Internet.

However, for me, this change would require an expense in the thousands of dollars class, and I would likely have a lot to lose.

I’ve been playing with this series since FM1 and have enjoyed making my own livery.
But will it finally come to an end?

I will not be pre-ordering FH5 unless they do a commentary on the new livery editor with actual play videos and such.

New cars, new body kits, and a new game system with amazing Mexican scenery.
Everything except this livery editor overhaul seems to be a great element for me, so I’m only sorry that this single change might be the most frightening uncertainty for me, and the deciding factor in my parting with the series I’ve loved for so many years.

I highly doubt that you will be able to import any svg. There is no way they are willing to deal with the copyright issue and adult content.

Yeah, I know the livery editor is a HUGE issue for many. Especially when it’s clear the import feature isn’t going to be fixed in FH4.

I agree that it would be doubtful that Microsoft would allow svg imports. I could be wrong.

I’ve seen the “Tuning” word when it comes to FH5 so that’s one thing off my list…:+1:t2:

Well…I’ve now seen evidence of rivals, car classes, upgrades, tuning, etc…returning in Horizon 5. Pretty happy about that.

It also looks like each route still has the route creator option via. Event Lab…although I haven’t seen any updates/videos on this feature.

I also noticed 543 total unique cars under the horizon promo feature shown off in the last live-steam. Quite the cut from horizon 4 assuming this is the final launch number.

Now, here’s hoping the missing Mazda mystery will be solved/shown soon.

They specifically addressed that and said to pay no attention to it. That was a dev build and not an indication of car count in the game we’ll get at release.

Thanks, was not aware of that statement. Good to know.

It’s not really a mystery. There are multiple major manufacturers still not on the launch day car list. They also have said multiple times that this is not a complete list and that they will still be revealing more makes and models that will be in the game before launch. They can’t show everything at once and have a schedule of reveals to follow until launch.

I’m aware of the fact that the list isn’t final, thanks. However, the twerkstallion is a missing from the Hoonigan launch list…seems a bit strange to leave one of the more popular hoonigan cars out. To clarify, that’s where my statement came from. We’ll see what they reveal.

I am pretty sure they have said that that number can be disregarded.

Also I think they said FH5 will have more cars on day one than FH 4 on day one. However I am pretty sure FH5 will have less cars on day one than FH4 has now.
We know that 34 cars will be released through the car pass and I am pretty sure they are holding back on some cars to release at a later date with a grand “And we are happy to announce that [insert car here] is returning to the Horizon Festival!!!”
