I don’t know if this is temporary but please fix this! Every other forza has shown new designs after the most downloaded, friends or followed players but FH4 only has a list of the most downloaded which new & probably even existing players will just download thinking that that’s all the liveries there are. You now have to search where you see all as it was before.
This gives painters no chance at getting out new designs they spent hours on unless someone searches.
The only people that will benefit from this are the ones that got designs uploaded early, for example the James Bond Edition AM DB10, if you look at the designs available the top one is a plain grey, with many others just plain. If you do a search & keep going there’s loads of designs that deserve better recognition.
I already have tried to put up around 50 designs that are just not known about because of this, tried sharing them over & over but no luck. I’m not saying I’m the best painter, far from it with the talent that is here, but just let the painters have a chance of showing their hard work!
They’re made such a mess of the livery side of things, I’m actually considering quitting painting, or even releasing existing paints.

This issue is only one of what looks to be several bugs, inaccuracies and inconsistencies with the Creative Hub, Horizon Life, paint sharing, painter leveling and credit rewards system in Horizon 4. I am in discussions right now with a couple of Playground people to try and better understand how these new systems are supposed to work. Once I get a detailed explanation of how things are supposed to work, I will post that up here in the Paint Booth section so we can all understand it and help them sort out what parts look to be incorrect or not working properly.
Thanks for doing something Wildcat, it’s frustrating as it is. The way it’s going just now the last livery in each section is building up so I can actually see the same designs being featured from day one til Forza 8 is released!
Apart from adding in all the features from FM7, they also need to add a quick chat option, to tell people they can download your livery. I can’t count the number of people that have quick chatted about my car’s in free roam!
Change the text options. im sure i saw an option in the list to help direct people to go and grab it! Will have a look later.
ps: Id expect that when featured designs via contests are opened will have work pushed to front of the most downloaded, and a bit of an incentive to enter contests too

Agree. It’s a pity, that new designs don’t show up in the selection screen. Recommended designs are the ones with the highest download count. I tried to upload some imported designs I made in FM7, right after release, but the livery was placed incorrect on the car so I didn’t share anything. Now it’s really hard to get into the recommended section. I even can’t see designs made by friends on the front page
They really should change that.

It’s a little bit of a mystery to me how it works presently.
I shared another design tonight and I think that has just increased my painter rank to 3 from 2*. According to my creative hub I have 17 designs shared and so far would you believe it 17 downloads with 1 follower.
Most of my designs were uploaded on Saturday and I suspect as a lot of people are finding, they are just lost somewhere in the sharefront and won’t ever be seen unless someone is actually searching for them.
*it’s either that or time actually spent tweaking the design before sharing was somehow totalled in to the score and the sharing made no difference.
So that’s where my downloads come from. I’ve uploaded all my imported designs quite early ans some that got hardly any DL’s on FM7 are now my moneymakers.
They should definately change that. New liveries, even from established painters, have no chance now.
I actually prefer anonymity as much as I can get it. I’ve posted 15 or so paints, nothing elaborate, with absolutely no identifying information on them and have got a few hundred downloads so far.

Not sure why. Apart from the mess that it the livery side of things (editor and sharing), the game is fantastic fun!
I did type up a longer response Hieronymous but the forums ate it and gave me an error in return.
I’ll summarise this time around, it’s not personal. It’s just silly season on the forums in the wake of a new game release.
This is I think my ninth release as a moderator and they’ve long since turned predictable. Though, to be fair, I’ve gotten death threats from an entirely better class of noobs in the past.

What was wrong with the system we had I forget how long ago where someone looking for a design could sort by oldest, newest, most / least downloads, most popular by rating, etc. in addition to the search?
Hey, I’m new here, but painted some in FH3. I am wondering if you have any tips on getting my paint jobs out there in FH4 for people to see. I see there is a current issue with viewing them. I can’t even find my own paint jobs out there and atm there are 49. I am not perfect with them, but try to be. Just need some direction as to how to get them in front of people. They can choose if they want it or not, but it seems really difficult to get them seen. It would be nice to have a ticker in the creative hub showing how many people viewed them, so at least you know they are being seen. It feels unfair to have so many “Plain Jane” paints jobs getting the attention, but that isn’t really the main issue, it seems that many painter’s jobs are just not showing up. I need a few need pointers for ‘getting visible’, maybe I’m doing something wrong? I’d prefer not to use clubs and auctions for advertisements, but may resort to that… not yet though. Thanks for any help from anywhere.

One thing you can do, is make a gallery of your paints on here. At least people will be able to see what you have painted and then go in game and search for your GT, if they know what they are looking for.
There is also a weekly competition thread, which if your paint is picked - T10 will ‘feature’ your paint, so it appears at the front of the queue. Link for this weeks thread;
