Is there any other way to make your gallery other than taking photos in game so they show up when you long into forzamotorsport.net? I have about 500 designs shared (basically all ive made) granted, some are just different color variations so probably dont need to post each one if its the same style just different color, but that still leaves like 90% of my own designs to somehow get out there for more recognition… i have had a few that have gotten a couple hundred downloads and uses in which i usually share my designs the day before or day of weekly reset (for the cars of the car types for the weekly activities or whatever). I mean i have gotten more total downloads from all my design put together than i ever thought i would, but i just feel like some i made should get a little more notice than say a plain black one that you see as soon as you click find new designs. lol

Something I’ve noticed in my playthrough - is that the only time I see paints on other cars is when the drivatars in my race are friends, who happen to be painters and have a paint for the car the game has picked for them.
So in an act of madness or desperation? I’ve changed my licence plate to read ‘shared’ in the hope that when either I’m driving around or doing Forzathon Lives or my virtual self is appearing (hopefully in one of my paints) that it shows as shared and someone bothers to go looking for it. I have to say it doesn’t appear to be making one iota’s difference to my downloads but figured I’d try something lol.
I’m seriously angry right now. Hours spent wasting time creating a livery only to find there’s no way to share it! What is the point of making some of these systems either utterly incoherent to use or, worse, completely BROKEN!
Anyone else unable to share liveries??
You can share any livery you create … as long as you don’t use any locked vinyls that anyone else has created.
Did you use someone else’s vinyls?
Not gonna lie, i really don’t like how this new system works, the previous one was fine enough, but could use a tweak; As someone already mentioned, only designs that were shared when UE was released are benefiting from this, while new works are being left in the dark. I’ll be lucky enough to get at least 1 download for my best liveries that I ported from previous titles, and yes I do have the UE but it’s the disc version.
Don’t fix what ain’t broken
The main issue is that most people don’t want to be bothered to “search” for stuff, unless they are looking for specific liveries.
The “latest uploads” was the best one to get at least a small chance to get your design/group to be noticed, but now that is gone, chances are ridicolously low.
As it is right now, what is in the “most dowloaded” list will stay there forever, as it gets 100% visibility the whole time, even if it is a plain black livery done in 15 seconds, that has been uploaded in the first hour of private early access.
I think a good fix would be to make “most downloaded” to be reset weekly, and maybe, when buying a car, show RANDOM designs instead of the most popular ones. IMHO.
This is actually worse than I thought, there are only 252 designs shown in the search results & once that list is full there are NO new designs showing up!
I think ALL painters need to put their concerns in the bug section, otherwise anything new you do will be a waste of time
Co Pilot has posted in this thread specifically asking for feedback on the current system and opinions on what might improve it. Guessing it will take some time to go through various threads and, no doubt, numerous PMs & xbl messages but at least it’s good to know issues are being looked at.
With the current featuring of contest winners, they already took a large step. As in the other thread explained, My first livery ever has picked in week 2? the GTI, was featured in that tiny window only where it still appears from time to time and has 9 downloads and 7 likes. Last weeks contest picked livery the DriftDroid was featured on top of the design page and has 2,2k dl until today and still is featured! (At least when I open it. And downloads still happen) They added another contest winner from this week in the same car category and mine didn’t get unfeatured. If they let it be there for 2 -3 more weeks, I don’t need the featuring anymore, because I’m on the first page then anyway. They obviously change things.
Its also not that easy, tens of thousands of people want their stuff to be seen and that’s what you get - thousands of liveries. ^^. The most downloaded liveries will always make a part of the first page. Now we have new liveries and people we follow on the first page too. Keywords and search could be extended for example. Or Categories. But it’s not like they can review the database manually and sort liveries - even then people will complain. cough contests cough
So 10 months later, did they ever change it so newly uploaded liveries appear first, like happens in the other Forzas?
They go in the recommended list near the front. Your followers see them first.
Why is my game not letting me apply designs I made ? Im trying to apply a design i made to this car and none of the 3 or any of mine. Will apply. No matter what, it lets me use other peoples stuff but not mine.
Maybe you are in the wrong car? There are FE versions of cars, and there are PO versions of cars. So cars can look the same, but are actually different cars.
Are you in the right car model for the design?
If not you might have to save each side of the car as layer groups and then apply those to the car you want the design transferred to (some tweaking required obviously).
I shared designs the other day with specific key words and when I searched to find my own design it wasn’t showing up at all. Games broken lol. What was it they said once before don’t fix what’s not broken.
When I try to add 2 different designs for the same car I.e Lamborghini Diablo GTR, it will use the same livery for both cars. It might be max livery capacity and if it is that then can it be lifted. If not, please find a solution.
Is this new? My cars have different designs on them, but I did them ages ago.
