New club with clean and mature gamers, looking for members

Hi, we’ve just opened our new club called Phoenix Racing [-PX-] and we are a bunch of really nice people who race clean and enjoy the game. We are recruiting new members who like racing, tuning, designing and meeting new people. If you are interested join up the club is open to all currently.

See you guys on the road!

Thanks for making it a little less lonely, people usually private message me  effectively making it look lonely

As much as I would like to stay in OVEN if the club activity is essentially dead then the club is essentially dead, regardless of who’s in it and what it has done in the past. If none of the other Oven members play this game much more or are active, I see no point in staying. It has been fun, it was awesome that I got picked for Co-Leader, but if there’s nothing left then it’s time to move on.

I can’t wait until TURN gets everything put together and finished. Can’t wait to be able to use our own boards and such for Horizon 2.

I was wondering what had happened with OVEN, we had a hard push to catch you guys on the club leaderboard and it’s been quite ever since. I don’t even bump into any of your guys online anymore. I guess the novelty of FH2 has worn off or everyone is playing Project Cars.

Joetben15 - missing you buddy, hope to be racing with you again soon !

But, if you are ever looking for another club the one I’m in is very active (ItMe) with weekly rival challenges and qualifying for club v club races. There are a couple others like GT, SBWL & PUKA that are also still going strong. Sad though that OVEN has got so quite, a real powerhouse, especially in the ClubbedUp competitions. :frowning:

I don’t mind the weekly rival challenges but on so many of the more common tracks I already have pretty good times. I enjoy the challenge but the issue is that without setting custom leaderboards or self-reporting your times and making a table elsewhere there’s not much point.

Most of the Oven people have finished Horizon 2 and are off to other games. I’m not done with all the grind yet, but I enjoy the game and continue to play. I really only play a small handful of games so…

I made the above post and was easily flooded with messages from people I’ve never heard of asking if I’ll join their club. Pity most of them had weird club names, club names or gamertags that simply didn’t look like mature individuals, and not one could spell or use proper grammar so I had no choice but to delete them all.

I would have imagined you would have been flooded with requests, you have always been a very active contributor on here. I must say, my game has gotten better from some of your advise on here. The self reporting has become a little easier now that you can capture screenshots on the XBox One, but there is still a level of trust involved. I just wanted to highlight for you that there is still high activity in certain clubs and if I have been able to point you in the right direction to keep the game “interesting”, I could consider that a little payback to you for the impact you have had on my game.

anyone have a club i may join im 19 just bought xbox 360 few days ago so i dont have a mic but i will be getting one this week

I’d take a look around the posts in the club lounge and see what’s up. You might also try the search clubs by friends feature in the game to see what clubs your friends are in.

I do not think Phoenix Racing is for you, it is an Xbox One club and you are not playing on the Xbox One.

Ghettosmurf: missing you too man, raced with you too few times unfortunately. At least your ghost is available  Got a couple of south africans in px got me thinking about you.

Ppi: getting people involved here as much as i can, but keep in mind the game has come out in october and many other games have come out since. Most gamer’s attention span lasts like two weeks i would say. Serious racers are hard to come by, most have chosen their clubs and are sticking by it by now. Still, i’m doing all i can to make it interesting for other members, and im all but open to new ideas. Plan on playing this until forza 6 comes out probably (okay ill likely try need for speed, not going to lie). Still ill see you online whenever xbox live gets back to normal

im join looking for a club to people know me an i can get my name out there to find a better club i am more comfortable with im a dedicated racer im ordering a wheel like a logitech this weekend when i get paid saw a few on craigslist

You did the challenge and Wheely already had a tune for the car. I drove his for a championship and it’s pretty good - next time I play I will do another location with your build.

So much for participation…

Hey Joe,

here is the stand I was telling you about. It’s not 100% finished but it works and gets the job done. I still need to go out and get some wood filler to fill in the holes and imperfections. Then I can sand it all down by hand one more time and get it painted.

The entire base, upper platform, and outer column will be black. The interior column will be left as is except I will fill parts in and sand it smooth. The cup holder and attaching piece I will also paint black. After all that’s all done, I want to clear coat or protect the top in case I spill something on it or when I use it to eat on I don’t have to be extra super careful to avoid getting anything on it.

Once all that gets done I will be happy, but I am trying to talk my mother in law into decorating it for me. She’s a super fancy artist (she did the painting in the background - and all the artwork in my house) so I’m hoping she can do some lettering on the side and give it a motorsport oriented theme and I will then paint it all in.

The upper platform is telescoping, there are six different heights, each spaced out by 5 cm on the angled column. If you want to do the math to see how much that is in straight up/down height, the column is 35 degrees.

The pedals actually bolt directly into the bottom platform but the wheel does not. I considered lining things up and drilling holes to attach the wheel as well, but I prefer it sitting further out like this, it’s still easy to control, and the platform is weighted and stable so it does not shake much. Perhaps if I upgrade to a better wheel and the base is flatter or needs the mounting, I can make changes.

EDIT: my neighbor came over to return some tools he had borrowed and wanted to check it out. I told him he could look and I come into the room and this {insert seriously long string of expletives here] is twisting the wheel to full lock, letting it snap back to center and slamming it to full lock on the opposite side over and over again to the point that the base is rocking back and forth on the ground and this thing is almost 20kg. And here he is, an automotive mechanic who doesn’t know how to use a steering wheel. Idiot!

So, thanks to mush for brains, the interior column now (somehow) twists back and forth slightly with somewhat spirited wheel motions. Both the columns are rectangular prisms so there shouldn’t be much twist, at least not on the lowest setting but here we are… now to fix this.

Oh yea, and he somehow managed to crack and splinter the entire left side of the base - I’ve used this all day Sunday and it was totally fine. I transported it 150 miles and it was just fine. I used it as a table to eat on before I mounted the wheel again and it survived. Idiot neighbor kills it in 30 seconds. shakes head in disapproval No one, no one but my wife (other than me) get’s to touch this. Idiot neighbor, way to ruin it for everyone.

This is so cool! Looks like it would be more stable with a bigger base or heavier, anyway your neighbor is a fool. Can’t believe he broke it. When using something that’s not yours, it seems the rule of thumb is to be mindful, specially if thr thingnin question is a custom handcrafted object. -_-’ (also shaking head in dissaproval) can’t wait to see the finished product with the paint done!

On another note, ive been having trouble going online yesterday… I could sign in to my profile but couldn’t play online or access any online features for some reason. It said something like “cannot connect profile to servers” or some such… Other people on my friend’s list were on online road trips so really i hope this is going to get fixed soon.
