New 2018 Civic Type R in FM7? i really hope

Yes. That is my opinion. Do you really need to write a long paragraph because you’re so upset by it? Chin up, it’s just a car

Do yourself a favor. Stick to video games, because you clearly do not know jack squat about the reality of cars and you obviously would rather be herded like sheep, following the opinion of three middle-aged men.

You sound just like the guy on the Smoking Tire podcast mentioned earlier. So wound up over a car, its hilarious.
Do yourself a favour, try to accept that other people have different opinions to you, surprised I have to spell that out…

P.S. You are right. Everyone is entitled to varying opinions. However, please admit that your opinion is BASELESS and you showed up to this thread just to be the contradicting opinion and talk nonsense about a vehicle you know nothing about outside of your clearly biased statement, “its ugly AF”.

I truly hope you live in Volusia County, Florida. If so, it explains a lot as there is not a whole lot out in the boondocks except for V8s and tractors, so seeing something like a CTR would be so foreign to you.

So, your reason for not liking it are the vents, splitters, scoops, exhaust etc.

I suppose then that there aren’t many hypercars that float your boat.

It would be a sad Germanic world if everything had to be minimalist and functional.

You are not even criticizing it. You are straight bashing a car because it is a Civic. lol. I like probably 90% cars that have been made by the big manufactures in the past 3 decades. I don’t have a problem with the 2017 CTR. It isn’t a bad car. The platform is good, the power is great, and the handling is spot on. This car is made to be a weekend racecar, and it does what it was made to do well and for $35k, it is one of the cheapest options out there. Your opinion is the reason why people hate the car community. Toxicity and ignorance at its finest.

Actually, I enjoy rebutting your senseless opinions. So please do keep replying. Maybe if you were not literally the second post with the smug statement quoted above to a thread title clearly stating someone’s excitement over a vehicle potentially being included to FM7, that you obviously have no care for, but nonetheless, interject with nonsense just for the sake of spewing an opinion, then perhaps you would get a better response. However, you decided to talk rubbish about a vehicle or a topic just to release your verbal diarrhea. It not only makes you look like an opinionated troll but your lack of supporting detail other than “its ugly AF” just makes you look like an uneducated moron about the topic entirely.

Patiently waiting for your next idiotic reply.

Weak rebuttals aside, several others in this thread share my opinion and just dont see the fascination in a fugly FWD car. Nothing more needs to be said. I’ve realised now i’m arguing with what must be a 13 year old with posters of cars on his wall, so I won’t be replying further. Have fun arguing with yourself little boy :).

Have fun driving your tractor grandpa.

I´m more Interested why 3rd Party sites gives out Informations like this and not T10.

Do they Outsourceing their official Announcements?

The worst thing about the Civic is the fanboys that come with it. There was one on the Smoking Tire podcast who refused to believe that the demo car the host drove overheated

Well that’s because Honda’s are such reliable car’s. Funny, over the year’s I sure have seen a lot of them broke down on the side of highway.

Well there’s an announceemt you could have spotted from about 1,000,000 miles away. As soon as the Type-R won the SD ‘sweepstakes’ last week or whatever it was, I just knew that it wasn’t going to be the last we’d see of the Type R. Sooooooooo predictable. And you just know the Rally-X version’s coming, too.

I believe it’s because in the game they are fast compared to real life where they make a loud lawnmower noise and are slow in America.
Perhaps the JDM and Euro specs are fast, but until the new 350hp fwd came to the states you could literally count ten seconds after hearing one before it came into view and probably count all the chips and dents as it went past in super slow motion.
Oh well, to each their own. I do like the racing versions although I forget what division they are in. The others don’t bother me since I prefer to race A class and up.

You don’t have to like the Civic but you should be grateful that Honda still make it.

Too many manufacturers are playing safe or heading the eco route. Subaru has made its last STi. The list gets smaller.

I would guess that those of you criticising the Civic haven’t actually owned one. They’re really very good.

First Evo and now STi…this makes me sad.

I will say that Honda does have a better stock fwd limited slip than anything American right now. But, so does Volkswagen. And there are plenty of competitive fwd cars in British Touring Cars Championship if I am correct for those that doubt fwd performance capabilities.
If this one comes to FM7 it may be the first one that I wouldn’t mind testing out. Otherwise only the global touring car honda interest me.

I strongly suspect the “fix was in” for this - as in, let the Real Car Win.

First: Peter “SLAPTrain” Jeakins had a big lead going into 10-A - how in the world did Rahal pass him?

Second: I just pulled up free-play, Road Atlanta, standing-start with a rented Type-R… and ran a clean 1:42.605 on Lap 1. SLAPTrain ran a 1:47.535 and Rahal ran a 1:46.664 ???

Third: While the video looked good, it didn’t really look like actual lap footage… so was any of it “real”?

Now, it would be pretty cool if Honda really “installed a special mixed-reality windshield into the new hot hatch” - but I have to wonder if this was just a fun, post-processing video project.

Rahal was 1:46 not 1:44. I just repeated your experiment and didn’t go as fast as you, but did still beat Rahal’s time on my 2nd attempt. However, the car is simply awful, so I tried again with the 448 PI 2004 Type R, which handles so much better, and STILL beat Rahal’s time in the 523 PI car from a standing start.

I think it looks good. Big deal some vents r fake. Looks better than the 16 model not to mention better performance stock v stock.

I don’t really get the point of people who say “ughhh all other cars suck only the car I like is any good”. Do they have an inferiority complex and are trying to justify their purchase?

The latest gen of Golf GTI, Focus ST, Civic Si, GT86, Miata, Fiesta ST, Mini Cooper S, WRX, Mustang, Camaro, Challenger, 370Z. What do these cars have in common? They are all fun to drive. Some of them are even practical. There’s something to like about every single one. A brand new one is within financial reach for most people. There is an astronomical amount of appeal to cars like this. The new Type R is like these. A car doesn’t have to be as fast as an Ariel Atom to be a good car.

Anyone is free to say the Type R is not their cup of tea due to whatever their car preference is but frankly, anyone who says “The new Civic Type R just sucks” is really doing nothing but revealing to people around them that they are just a blind fanboy who doesn’t know jack about cars.
