I want to know how to make it as the best drifting tune so I can 3 star all drift zones.
Any replies can be on here or add my GT (xbx only) @ crimsonwolf225 No Caps

I would have thought a Formula Drift car would have been pretty well set up “out of the box”… I don’t have one but that would be my expectation given its name
Personally I wouldn’t download a tune from someone for a car like this … try to figure out why it is not working for you …
understeering front / too much (too little) power / gearing too spaced / tyre pressure a little out … ? … I imagine whatever it is it won’t need too much doing to it … take the car for a spin (Horizon festival circuit is perfect for this) and tune a little … another lap … better /worse? go again
Only adjust one thing at a time
Disclaimer, I’m not great at drift tuning, but…
With the FD Viper, I was struggling on a particular drift zone, ended up just resetting to default tune (but with AWD and maxed upgrades) then gave it a ton of positive rear camber and some toe out (and quickly fixed the gears). It’s terrifying and difficult to control but can stay sideways forever if you get it right.
Oh and diff accel at like 20-30 front, 80-90 rear iirc.
Optimal drift setups can vary a lot between drivers. I’d recommend trying out all of the Formula Drift cars to determine which tuning style fits best for you. The Viper is the most powerful, for sure, but the BMW was so much more controllable (for me) that I put up better results with it. Where I had issues with the Viper, I was able to 3-star with the BMW.
I’ve killed all the 3 star drifts and am top 5% if a spend some time on them and generally, I’m not a great drifter. I used only stock Formula Drift tunes, however, I did change the car based on the drift zone. The Viper is just too much for me to control on slippery zones. I always try to use lower HP cars as the zone is more slippery.
There is one zone in the forest that muddy and uphill. That one I couldn’t do with any of the Formula Drift tunes. Eventually, I built a mid-HP AWD tune using a BMW FE that gave me Drift bonuses. I can’t remember the car model.
Generally, I’m always using RWD drift tunes now, but with that slippery tight drift zone, I need the AWD.
I SUUUUCK at drifting, formula drift cars just didn’t work for me, because i suck…
I tried every single car on the top lists, no luck
So i had to think outside the box, waaaaay outside… And there i finally found it, the best, easiest to control, drift anywhere, on any surface, in any weather car…
now promise me not to laugh.
IT turned out to be the BMW Isetta.
With some trial and error, i got a tune set, so that with manual gear, traction and stability off, set car in 4th or 5th gear depending on the zone, and drivning style, and it will drift so smoothe and easy my cat could do it. Even i can take it beyond 90 degrees with out loosing control.
Even the narrow gravel zones are np.
I EASY made 3 stars on all zones, and on most im in top 10 of my club.
With a better driver, i am sure the car would do better.
Ive shared the tune, and i think it’s called #1 drift car, with waznewz as creator.
I know this is a bit offtopic, just thought id share an alternative solution.
Edit: #1 DRIFT IN GAME - The tune is called.
You have inspired me to mess about with an Isetta !
Normally drift in BMW M3s /M5s or Nissans of various flavours …current fave drift car is Merc SL65 …
I did the same thing in FH3 for some Drift Zone’s I just couldn’t complete in the other cars. Although I’ve now learned to drift and use the Formula Drift cars regularly, I applaud you for doing it any way you can.
If you are struggleing with formula drift cars… Its because you are probably a begginer. They are set up for the “pros” and no they are not set up for all of them neither. So if you buy one of them it doesnt mean that you will automatically become a pro drifter. Or if you are already a pro you will definetelly change its tune. Its up to your drift style. Im the kind who loves drift cars with a lot of grip and power. I always put on race tires for good grip and play around with the widht and the pressure. If it is too grippy than higher the pressure or change the widht of the rear tires. You need to tune the gearing aswell. If you are lets say drifting in 3rd than you shouldnt bang the heck out of the rev limiter. You should up shift or you should tune your 3rd gear so your car wont bang the limiter while drifting. And yes, you must use manual, traction control off, braking assistent off and steering too. It is a lot easier like that.
