I was seeing if I could get some help with tuning because I have no idea what I’m doing and I don’t want to download other peoples tunes because i would like to make my own.
Search through the FH2 Tuner’s Lounge (that’s here) and the FM5 equivalent as well. There are plenty of good threads discussing the principles of tuning in these games.
You may also try looking for SpotTheKitty’s open source tunes thread. If you scroll to the bottom of the OP you can find a plethora of useful resources. His tunes are also pretty great.
Read the descriptions given for each part in the game. It is very helpful and very easy to understand.
This might be a personal preference for me, but start with the suspension. Personally, to figure out spring rate, I do this…I take the weight of the car (post upgrade), I multiply it by the front end percentage, then deduct that from the whole car weight to get the rear end weight, and then I divide the 2 weights by 2. Then I apply those numbers to front & rear spring rate.
You might be surprised at just how much of a difference that one thing makes in general.
If you couple that with Anti-roll bar adjustments, the effects can be dramatic. Especially on rear wheel drive cars.
Doing just the above(with sport or race tires and bigger rear end tires) and adding a little negative camber to the rear has tamed a few of those beastly 500HP American monsters.
Best tip I think I can give though is, make small changes to one thing at a time.
For S1 and S2 a lot of times it will be the tyres specifically that put it over and into the class you want. Not always - sometimes they will make it go too high or you can get there without them - but I do use tyre upgrades on a lot of my upper class builds.
If it is just C - A Class, try using only street tyres or no tyre compound upgrades at all. If it is an AWD build always use the rear tyre width upgrades. Experiment with the fronts (and rear for non-AWD) as you see fit and see whwat else you can get in a build once you remove the tyres. This game has no shortage of grip and if you build & tune your car well you can get much faster times without the tyres.
