so I tweeted alan from ar12 gaming because he met up with dan greenwalt to talk about forza seven so I asked hi if nascar was going to be in it he said yes at launch to tweet
Well that explains how theres 700 cars. Nascar thirty odd cars all but the same. Formula e another twenty odd all the same. Won’t take long to fill up that total with cars I have absolutely no interest in. Oh the excitement…
Remember though the full 24 or so Formula E and 24 Indycars were in Forza 6 at launch… and as Forza 7 will launch with 250 more cars thst Forza 6, we can anticipate around 234 will be added if you exclude NASCAR. That’s still not bad.
I think it’s more the fact that each livery is classed as a separate car instead of just being a selectable option, both GT and Forza have this issue and I wish it would stop as it is just padding out the car list for no reason.
1 car model with the 30 liveries=those 30 cars in game without them being classed as separate cars, thus no car list padding allowing for a lot more different cars that are available.
It doesnt work that way. It is not like they set say a 700 limit and then use 30 nascars. Reduce the 30 to 1 will simply shorten the list by 29, that is all.
I’m not a major NASCAR fan either but take it down a notch. It’s nice at least that the previous expansion content will come bundled with the game at launch including Porsche so that any new expansions will consist of new content. Can’t be a bad thing right?
The nascar field is limited to 40 cars and usually only 39 compete. Only a handful of teams were in the previous game.
Odd are it will be:
Stewart-Haas (4 cars)
Hendrick (4 cars)
Penske (2-3 cars. Depends on if #21 car owned by wood brothers is allowed)
Gibbs (4 cars)
Furniture row (2 cars)
At least 16 or 17 plus a few other special paint schemes. No more than 30 I’d think.
Now if they include xfinity or truck series, that would be a different story.
Adding nascar is huge. The other nascar game out there is garbage so it’s a selling point to have nascar models paired with more realistic physics and far superior graphics.
Hearing this is good news to me, though I’m wondering what model year will be in FM7, last year’s or this year’s. Either way, I’m looking forward to running my #3 GM Goodwrench paint once again.
This can only be a good thing - for a LOT of us NASCAR fans who play Forza. Expect several different paint schemes on the few identical models, since I doubt it’s possible to get a decent licensing deal without showing off some sponsor-heavy liveries. All of us who love NASCAR already know that sponsors of familiar household and workplace products make NASCAR what it is - high speed billboards racing inches apart for hours. Subliminal messaging at its finest!
I love NASCAR and the whole paint scheme business.
Be nice if they all have the same numbers in the tuning section in FM7. Just realized the other day as I was moving some tunes from the Chevy to the Fords/Toyota that the ride height minimums are different in each car. Chevy minimum ride height F 3.5, R 4.3, Toyota F 3.7, R 4.3, Ford F 3.9, R 4.7.
I would like to see the tunes for these cars available to all the same make no matter what the livery is.
The last game if you made a tune say for the Matt Kenseth #20 car it was only available for that Toyota and not Denny Hamilins #11, Kyle Bush’s #18, etc.
Some drivers cars had a bunch of good tunes available and some drivers had very few to choose from even though they drove the same car. ( a different livery )
I would like all tunes for the Toyotas be available for every Toyota ( same car make and year ) regardless of the driver or livery
Some of the drivers had 2 different liverys and if you liked a tune you had to race it with that livery as it may not have been available for the other livery ( same car and driver but the tune was not available for both livery’s )
As an example a tune for Matt Kenseth should be available for any Matt Kenseth car regardless of the livery and I would also like to see that tune available to any Toyota of that year ( Kyle Bush, Denny Hamilins, Daniel Suarez )
Either way it’s not like the dev team can magically produce an extra 29 cars just to fill the gap. We’d just be seeing ‘Over 650 cars!’ in the marketing instead. Which is still a bloody impressive number.
