Note: This is just my opinion/review over Forza 5, if anyone is offended by this, I do apologize and mods feel free to lock this.
After waiting for almost 5 months for a XB1, I finally got it yesterday, despite having issues with GameStop and serious issues with Best Buy, but that’s a different story and won’t talk about it here! After setting up, I popped in my copy of FM5 LCE, which had been sitting in the same plastic wrapping since release, and after the first race, I was quite amazed by lighting, sounds, and of course the McLaren P1, though the default assists were a pain to deal with (auto brake especially). When it came to picking the first car to use in the Modern Sport Compact series, I went with the S2000 and must I say it was a blast to drive. The drivatars were a bit handful (especially a couple of my friends’ drivatars), but doesn’t bother me since I’m used to that in Horizon. But it doesn’t stop there, for when it came to purchasing my first cars which were the '02 Camaro SS and the '70 Z28 ( both obliviously), I was shocked that stripes on the '02 Camaro can be removed, allowing me to recreate my actual ride, even though I had to use metal flake since that’s the only metallic paint I found so far. The '70 now comes with the stripes, which I must say they got it right. When I took the '02 Camaro for a spin around Sebring, the sun glare reflecting off the windshield looked spot on, not to mention the time of day. The cars in Forzavista look amazing, though I wish you can open the hood on some cars, but I ain’t complaining. If you think excitement stops here, you are wrong; Shortly after backing out to the menu, I received a flock load of in-game messages from T10; most were rival recommendations, a couple were T10 announcements, and the rest were gifts from Forza Rewards and Turn 10, from cars to credits, all past gifts dating back to November: Audi RS7, Ferrari F12, Ford Fiesta ST, McLaren P1, and 10.5 million Cr from Forza Rewards as well as , the past VIP/holiday gifts (Halo Boss 302, Zoo Fiesta ST, Holiday IS F, Lotus E21, Holiday Veloster), and the free cars from each pack via the car pass, so it was a great start to Forza 5! Overall Forza 5 has officially blown my mind with the detail of the cars, sounds, lighting, painting, and racing! So thank you Turn 10 for FM5, and wish you the best of luck down the road ahead. Now that’s done, off to recreating my F4 and FH designs for FM5!!
