Well, after E3, I figured I better catch up so I bought a One and Forza 5…
What happened to this series? There’s no community marketplace to sell cars, there’s no way to sell cars after you purchase them…and that’s just the beginning of my complaints.
Why did they take out the ability to look at a detailed list with the information about your cars, such as tire sizes, torque/HP and peak RPM? The physics feel better, but now I can’t even easily access information I normally use for tuning vehicles. This is ridiculous. I really hope these come back with Forza 6, and that this is just due to being a rushed launch title.
It’s not entirely bad, I do like the new tracks that wer added and it is fairly fun to play. Until you buy a car you don’t know you’ll like and then realize you hate it, haha.
Yeah that part took a while for me to digest as well… a couple of duds sitting in my garage I’d love to get rid of. lol
Not cool though how some cars have almost no change in engine/exhaust notes after upgrades (skyline gtr for instance) or generally sound weak (the evos).
Mehh… this ain’t no whining thread. It’s a pretty solid game for a launch title and if I feel like straying away for it, Horizon 2 welcomes me with arms wide open.
I hope T10 and PG join forces all the way to develop a killer open road + track driving game with insane physics and engine sounds to boot, where you get to cruise around AND drive to track locations for actual race weekends. EPIC!
i think if racers went from FM3 to FM5 there would be no complaining. FM4, IMO, pretty much hit it out of the park. i have FM2 and 3 but it wasnt until FM4 that i dared go online to see just how good (or not as was the case) i was against the rest of the world. i think im looking forward to the reverse compatibility more than i am of FM6 release. i’m an american…i dont want to race in the rain. rain days are for drinking beer and griping about not being able to race
I just finally got an XboxOne as well. I picked up this game as I really like FM4(and still play it online).
I agree with your points on FM5. Graphically, the game is amazing.
The thing that really bothers me is the sound glitching that happens after a couple of hours play. Sounds like static pulses. No way to get rid if of it unless you hit the home button, “menu”? button, quit the game, then restart it. .
I don’t think there is ANY excuse for this game to have such a problem…especially 2 years out after launch. Searching the forums does show the problem…I just can’t believe that this got out of quality testing with this issue. I use optical out with bitstreaming/Dolby 5.1.
FM4 is flawless on sound with optical out/Dolby 5.1.
It is a huge fail for a racing game to have sound issues such as this…
I got this thing(XBOne) in preparation for FM6. I hope I have not made a mistake in spending so much cash given the lack of care in tracking down and patching this sound problem.
Relax bud. Here’s how you can get rid of the sound bug for a while at least. If you’re lucky, it may disappear altogether:
Keep your console on Power Saving
Always shut it down from the console power button (tap it, don’t hold it). After power down, turn off supply from main. This will ensure a fresh boot the next time you power up (wait for the brick light to go from white to amber)
Clear Persistent Storage after every gaming session
Don’t leave any apps or downloads running in the background. Make sure you select Quit after pressing the start button
It’s best to play games right after booting up your console
Just for good measure, ensure both the top right half of the console and the power brick aren’t too warm to the touch
By the way, do you remember seeing any micro screen freezes or minute lags/pauses while racing?
The screen does micro freeze every now and again. Both online and single player. Not much, but it does hiccup every now and again. To my knowledge, nothing is running in the background. I’ve got the auto updates off as I don’t want the console doing other stuff in the background.
Ain’t nothing you can do about this buddy. I noticed this too the day I played FM5 for the first time… seeing how Forza on the X360 was so smooth and seamless.
Has been discussed to death here… it’s there in FH2 as well on X1, though a lot less frequent.
This should be a thing of the past in FM6, hopefully.
Even though it isn’t what I’d call a very common occurrence during gameplay, it does happen now and then like you said… enough to take notice. No other game does this on my console. Oh well… good things are on the way!
