i just scooped up forza 4 for 5 bucks in a yard sale. I know this will shock some but this game will be my first go in the actual forza motorsport series. I’ve only played horizon and before been a need for speed only guy. I love arcade racers and the only sims i even remember playing were gran 1 and 2. The point here is I know this is far different from arcade and crashing people is very frowned upon, wall riding ect.
just need some tips and what to expect going forward. Want some pro advice for the sim newbie here
Welcome aboard ! Wow, where to start ? I started with Forza 4, myself, three years ago, but still , I hadn’t experienced the prior Forzas. Not a “racer” , myself, so will let some others direct you there. Great place to start is right here on the forums. Check all the pages, much, much to see and do. Tuning advice, explore the photo possibilities, mess around in the paint booth, start a storefront, play the Auction House, find some comps or contests, here on the forums-easy/fast credits to be found.
Tons of things still to do in Forza 4. Turn 10 has reached the end of their " support" cycle for the game, that’s why many of us here on the forums are trying to keep it alive =].
Forum community full of helpful/ supportive players who will assist/advise/ help you out. Need anything, hit us up here.
You have questions? Do a search on the forums, as it has more than likely been discussed before. Still not answered, then post for some help.
Welcome to the game, welcome to the forums , you started in the right place.
Need some credits, getting started, I am more than happy to help you get started, unless you want to earn them yourself.
Welcome and good luck =]
kool you are forgetting they reset the boards in january and most of the answers are stuck on the old boards. http://legacy.forums.forza.net/forums/161/ShowForum.aspx search does not work on the old forums. learn tuneing, it makes the car so much easier to drive. there is no one tune fits all. you need a tune for the class and track , or track type. dont waste your credits on parts, after you get your afinity to level 4 most of the parts become free, i think all except aero and rims. pick the parts you want to add for your driving style rather than auto upgrade.
I didn’t forget about the forum reset I “lost” a couple good threads in the reset. I just meant for him to do a " search" here, before he would post any questions. Correct, most info and answers are in the Legacy forums, but there are still answers to possible questions, here.
by the way search is hard too see on my monitor. horizontally its about even with forums at the top of the page right above where it says inbox. i didn’t know it was there for the first few months. dark grey on black was not a good color selection, its camouflaged.
Have fun with all the things others have said(listen to them they know) When you decide to get on the track, don’t give up. There are a lot of really good drivers here. Spend some time in practice and when you are done do it some more. Practice, practice practice and and did I mention practice. The last thing I will say is get a mic. PRACTICE
I will add please get a Mic. That way you can talk in lobbies and/or parties. Don’t hesitate to ask questions while on the game. Most of us will help as much as we can. There are a few “trolls”, but for the most part they keep to themselves. I will also say if you want to join a club, checkout the “Clubhouse” section on here. You can read what most are about. There are a lot of good clubs out there. I really like the one I’m in. I won’t mention which one unless you ask as I want you decide if it’s what is best for you.
All newbies are very welcome here. Fresh meat. Maybe even someone I can beat? That would be different. LOL
This community is chock full of great people. Fair warning though - if you are racing Bigfoot, be prepared to eat dust. Man! That guy is quick. I’m getting used to hearing him and onelapmagic chatter as they cross the finish line while I am limping along a full lap back in the regular Sunday races.
This is probably the best complement I’ve ever gotten on here. I did miss all your comments this past week. I forgot you’re from the great white north. Hope you had a good Thanksgiving.
I’ve been a long time Forza enthusiast. I’m a very competitive person, but I’m laid back and love to help other people to get better at this game. The more competition, the more fun it becomes. If you want some help online, feel free to add me. I could send some cars, designs, vinyl groups, etc to get you going.
