The current multiplayer rating award system is a joke.
It SHOULD be based on earning the safety and skill rating instead of awarding it based on just 3 races.
By sheer luck of the draw your skill rating can be trashed by idiots using you as a method of braking into corners, pushing you off track resulting in a ridiculous skill rating that’s not based on driving skill but survival alone.
These fools get half second penalties whilst fair players get shafted with an insanely poor skill ratings as a result, given the importance of these 3 races, the penalties should be a drive through or stop and go penalty at the bare MINIMUM, Harsher penalties in these foundation races WOULD promote fair play and not dirty tactics.
In addition the entry races should have the cars locked to stock settings as it’s supposed to be driver skill not tuning skill and car level.
For instance, in the 3 races I had for my safety rating I HEARD the players laughing with glee at taking me out and being given a mere 0.5 second penalty whilst I ended up going from 1st to last place as a result of their actions. skill rating TRASHED as a result.
Why should we BOTHER playing multiplayer if this rating system remains in place?
Better yet… Remove the current system entirely and have it work the same as ANY other rating system by being EARNED and EVERYBODY starting at the lowest level, with more incentive to improve by skill and fair play.
Push someone off track? Forced to wait for them to return to the track ahead of you!
Repeated contacts in a race? Drive through or stop and go penalty at the end of that lap!
Failure to comply with drive through or stop and go during that lap? Disqualification and immediate reduction of safety rating by 1 tier!
If you want to have safety ratings they NEED to mean something.
If you want skill ratings they NEED to be earned not awarded.
With all the supposed promoting fair play (e.g. fps caps in MP and rivals) why is the current ratings system utterly unfair?
