I run an online league, and we do road courses as well as the two ovals in spec cars (V8 Supercars). Has anyone else noticed that it seems like there is a bubble on the back bumper of other player’s cars online? Numerous times in testing, I’ve tried to give a soft bump draft to my buddy, and it gives me damage (on the rear of my car even though I hit bumped him with the front of my car no less), slows me down by 40 MPH, while on his screen it appears I got close but never touched him. He doesn’t receive any damage cosmetic or otherwise, no sound like he’s been bumped, nothing. In FM5, bump drafting worked as it should. It propelled the lead car forward a bit while also speeding up the trailing car due to draft. In this game, the lead car gets no advantage, and the rear car picks up damage on the back of his car and gets slowed down by 30-40 MPH.
I’m wondering if this is a bug, or if this is a “feature” due to the ridiculous crashers in public lobbies? Being able to bump draft, or even move someone 1/2 a lane towards the end of the race is a valid part of some motorsports such as NASCAR and V8 Supercar. Has anyone else noticed this issue?
