Well mine is a total piece of trash so far. I’ve read a multitude of threads people have posted and I don’t think anyone is having the issues I’m having…
1: Wheel doesn’t calibrate properly. Spins but stops partially upside down and off to the left. Calibrates fine plugged up to my lap top. Doesn’t seem to be off center in game but still isn’t right.
2: Mode button flashes non-stop. I never get a solid red light and occasionally it flashes green for a split second (pedal reverse code but pedals never switch). Read below it also seems to switch modes by itself.
3: Sensitivity is absurd. Wheel is nearly unplayable at all times. I managed to get the sensitivity code (mode+right paddle) to work…once. Now it doesn’t ever work up or down on sensitivity. Which doesn’t matter because when I check it on the laptop it’s always set to default. This also seems to change on its on during game play. If I turn on simulation (which I ran with the Microsoft Wheel) vehicles fly all over the place like they are riding on ice.
4:With DOR, hang up using 900 or for that matter anything above 540. My wheel however I have to set to 300 because it seems to bounce around between DOR’s by itself. If I start at 300 a few laps in it will switch itself to 540. (It seems).
5: after every race in multilayer I have to unplug the usb and re calibrate. If I don’t the Right paddle button switches to like the Y Button or something else oddball. Trust me it’s frustrating. It only took a couple of races where I went to up shift at the start and looked behimd myself instead.
So far this wheel is total (expensive) junk and Im about to lose my mind. YES I’ve already updated the firmware. I’ve tried every procedure on Thrustmaster .
I think everyone is having the problems you are having, except I am not having your number 2 problem… I think problem 3 and problem 4 are generally the worst of it since those are not issues with the TX and are issues with the in-game physics and FFB. My TX plays perfectly on every other sim game i play except this one.
I feel bad for you, the wheel issues are enough to make you upset, however tx customer support will make it worse. My wheel needed replaced the first week of August, a month and a half of jumping through hoops to get it replaced and still no wheel. Insult to injury since I paid for early release.
Yeah here is the update… New Egg list the “item” not eligible for return and Thrustmaster has tried to blow me off. CurrentlyI’m allegedly waiting for an e-mail. If it’s not there in the morning I plan on cursing everyone out I can get on the phone till someone satisfies the 300 dollar purchase I made,
Just tell them that you are going to call the Better Business Bureau if you are not satisfied and then they will get scared and tighten up and take care of you!
Update horrible customer service from Thrustmaster. I was told I would receive an email to follow up and have yet to get anything back a week later. New Egg is contacting the manufacturer on my behalf.
Wheel still sucks big time. Had a friend came over and we diagnosed. It is jumping between the DOR settings AND changing sensitivity setting in the corners from least to most…TX 458 thus far completely unplayable piece of junk.
Anybody have issues where the paddles simply stop working during a race? Over the weekend, my paddles stopped shifting during a race, and i can’t figure out how to get them to work again. They work while navigating menus, and out of game, but not when i need them to shift my car. This is in FM6, btw. i haven’t checked on any other titles yet.
