For those that have a manual shifter and steering wheel setup, how do you get around using a vehicle in game with more than 6 gears? Im guessing you would then switch to using the gear paddles behind the wheel to shift, or is there a setting to add a splitter type gear box setting where you push a button and are then able to start back at first gear as 7th and so on? Thinking of getting a g920 but im not a fan of flappy paddle shifting i like the good old clutch and stick shift manual box… i just hope i dont have to rev match down the gears in my 1920’s bugatti 
Left Paddle = Handbrake
Right Paddle = 1 Gear up, for everything after the 6th gear 
So how would you get down from 8th to 7th?
I’ve made a cheap rubberband mod on my G27 shifter so it works as a sequential shifter !
Works perfectly and cost like nothing to do . Then just assign 3th as down and 4th as up

I did this same mod on my g27 that i had years ago, i still have the custom plates i bought so that i could put a momo wheel on a g920 when i get one, instead of rubber bands i used hair bands as they dont tend to snap as much and they can give a better tension but this time round im planning on upgrading to a th8a shifter is it ? I just thought for the truck gear boxes id prefer to have a way to shift through but then again if im that bothered by it ill just play truck simulator instead and use the sequential for rallying in horizon 4 but thank you all for the feedback!
My thrustmaster shifter has 8 gears.(7+1)
I use 1-6 on my H-Shifter, and for 7th I just use the paddle, you still need to clutch but it works. For the cars wth 8-10 gears, well I really don’t use them much,
IRL only a few cars have 7 gears and an H pattern shifter, and my Fanatec Shifter has that covered.
Cars with 8 to 10 gears are all dual clutch or automatic gearboxes so I switch from manual w/clutch to manual.

same, only issue is the 10 speed in the big rigs. those are not dual clutch or auto
I did specify cars
I actually haven’t driven the big rigs and don’t intend to.
If I do I might even just use controller for them.
