More realism

A nice thing I would like to see are more " realistic " engine swap or conversion . Like for example The Mk4 Golf R32 with only One optional conversione as a v8 is not realistic . I would like to put a vr5 or a v5 from Audi instead. Same for mk3 , mk2 and mk1 Golf . Or maybe The chance to put a Diesel engine in all car for example a 1.9 tdi on a Audi rs4 or a Volkswagen Golf or having real engine optional for The car you choose for example a bmw e34 you can choose between 4-6 or 8 cylinder engine 520-525- 530-… . I would like to see allso new body part that change to a more normal version of The car ( like you did on Audi rs4 2012 that you can change it from an RS4 to a S4 and a normal A4 I think ), so I can have a normal Bmw E 30 or e36 instead of an M3 or a normal mk 5,4,3 Golf . Another cool feature would having possibilities to choose 2 or 4 door and a Saloon or estate version when The re is One in real Life. I allso would like to have possibility to change The color and trim of The interior like for example The crew 2 , having turn singnals and The map in The navigator system monitor like TDU and TDU2 , having more realistic behavior of The Ai and drivatar ( like in Midnight Club LA they drive normal unless you challenge them) .
Choose different rim allso from The make of The car for example I would like to have rims on my e39 m5 from The e34 m5 and so in for other car like having Audi RS4 03 on my 1995 Audi RS2 . Another nice thing would be changing The driver position ( for example like in Euro Truck Simulator 2 ) . I think theese things will improve The game so much.

Why are you even here dude?
Do you ever contribute anything helpful?
How do you lack any semblance of social tact?
Are you an angry person? Need a hug?
How long is your Mom gonna let you live in her basement before she makes you get a job?

Yep it’s a arcade style driving game not a simulation, so being able to put nonsensical engine swlaps is part of the fun.

While I also like some crazy swaps, it didn’t look to me like the OP wanted those gone so much as they’d like some reasonable options added.

Personally, I find FH5 very realistic. Yesterday, I was in the 2020 Bronco, and noticed for the first time that the roof could be removed. I swear, after two weeks of driving around in free roam I never saw a drop of rain. But as soon as I stared driving the Bronco with the top down, it immediately started raining.

Can’t get any more realistic than that.

Yeah it’s so realistic, I see people in chicken suits driving around every day in real life, and also feel the need to get out my car and dance and prance about like a lunatic if I beat someone away from the traffic lights. Lol

Hahaha

I will say it’s cool that I can 6.7 PowerStroke swap the Hummer H1. That’s actually something I could see someone doing IRL.

It’s purely down to licencing I suspect.

PG: Dear “car manufacturer” can we have a licence to allow “stock part from other cars not currently licenced in the game” please?
Manufacturer: Dear PG, “no.”

So ends the discussion regarding stock parts from cars not in the game. Licences cost money, and the more you need, the more expensive the game is going to get. Obtaining licences for TDi engines, alloy wheels and the whole host of other bits and bobs, is going to be astronomical, and it’s just not feasible without passing on the costs to consumers. Horizon is nothing like “real life” and I seriously doubt it ever will be.

Most of us would be happy if they could just make the game work properly…

It could be the reason but the swaps are not “branded”. We all know that “TT3.0L” is a 2jz or “5.2 V10” is an audi/lambo engine but it never mentions specific brand or engine manufacturer, it does not use official engine code of a given manufacturer

That’s a fair comment, I could just be reading too much into it. The alloy wheels would need to be officially licenced if they’re not in the game already, as those are definitely IP owned by the manufacturer. The engines you mentioned are already in game in some form or other though, so they’ll already be licenced for use. I’m not sure how it would work with engines that aren’t in the game at all. At this point I’m just speculating though…
