Dear Devs,
I am not a very long standing FH player. The first ever FH I got was FH4 only because it had the Tamo Racemo and the Lotus Carlton in it and a mix of good handling dynamics with a nice selection of races.
So, when I heard FH5 would be in Mexico, and that there would be forests, swamps and a lot of off road racing (something reinforced by the second expansion), I was a little sad when the amount of mud and dirt you could repaint your car with, was more or less the same as FH4.
Now, I have no knowledge of how PGG handles the mud: is it displacement and color maps overlaid on top of the base paint maps, or is it a mesh custom sculpted for each car and toggled via what I presume is LOD’s, I will never know, nor will I ever have enough skill to find out. But doing some gruesome cross country races in the pouring rain across mud, grass and what not ought to reward me with atleast a little more mud on the car.
Take this screenshot for example: I raced the titan in what is practically a mansion with a Bentley logo on it, which is closer to a million than the yearly income of most households, with enough power and torque to challenge god, engaged in the automotive equivalent of a bar fight on the way to first position, trespassed across approximately 3 dozen farms and flattened enough trees, plants and other local flora to make a sizable dent in whatever conservation efforts the Mexican Government had underway in Guanajuato. And it looks like this:
At most, a gentle spray of mud, more fitting a car that drove on a rainy motorway than something that just challenged how fast four wheels can be flung across surfaces not ideal for non-military vehicles.
This isn’t a criticism per se, and I do not even know how unreasonable I’m being with this suggestion, but some serious mud on the cars would be such a delicious upgrade to the experience. Especially if the race is as formidable as the titan: there would be enough mud on the car to have to use the wipers. Hell, even an intense road race should repaint the car with bugs and hard dirt.
