Xbox (not currently on monthly online)Can someone explain why the monthly rivals does not register for me. As I understand from looking around some say all you have to do is not hit any barriers and you do not have to beat the rival. I tried many many times on the previous Ford Falcon challenge and could not get even close to beating the rival but did have clean laps yet it did not register the points. Now with the new Summer it seems to be doing the same thing. What are the requirements to complete? Does it have to be in High Skill? Do I have to beat the rival and post a clean lap or just do a clean lap and there is a bug? Manual transmission or Auto, could it be because I am not a Gold pass online member? nothing seems to work for me. It seems like I am missing some requirement that is not posted. Thanks

Have you tried choosing a ghost that you can beat?
You can manually select your target ghost.
It should work without Gold if I remember correctly.

It’s just a clean lap. If the lap is dirty there is an exclamation point next to your best lap time listed. If it’s not working be sure you have restarted your Xbox and that the game isn’t in quick resume before launching it. That’s the first thing that comes to mind.

In my experience, the default ghosts usually sit still for several minutes, so it should be trivial to beat them so long as you turn a clean lap.

I tried fiddling around with that but there is thousands of scores and it has not made a difference when I chose a slower opponent. Do you know what the yellow exclamation point is all about?

I will try to restart the game clean although I worry as with the last update I had to download the whole game even though I use the disk…139 gb took a day as we have slow internet. Thanks

And check the Assists not sure if it allows auto-steer/brake

The “yellow exclamation point” would mean the lap was dirty, it has to be clean to count.

In my experience you actually do have to beat the rival. But the default (especially early in the week) is usually a dirty lap. I try to do those early because some of the people on my friend list are way better drivers than me.

Beating the chosen rival is not required. It’s easy to test by selecting one of the ridiculous top times to run against.

If they have friends that have run it, the friend will be the rival rather than the slow and dirty default. If that’s the case then it’s a bit more challenging to change to a slower rival time.

Edit: if you’re finding it is required for you I would at least bring it up in the troubleshooting section. It’s not for me even this series in the circuit.

Thanks to everyone, This is what worked for me:
Rebooting the game, also choosing to change the time to a slower one keeping the assists the same as the one I am using ie: A for Automatic and Anti lock ABS, I also went into settings and more or less set things like display settings and buffer to minimum trying to get the ghost to slow down. I think it worked as it did not fly my me like a jack rabbit like it used to…thanks for the advice.
