Turbocharged engines of the 80’s advanced so quickly and became so much more powerful the regulations repeatedly tried to restrict their intake volume, fuel allowance and boost pressure year on year. MP4/4 had the final iteration of turbo F1 engines of that era with the most stringent restrictions, they were getting expensive too so were banned for 1989.
No Forza is correct with the MP4/4. 1988 was the last year of the turbos and the regulations dropped boots pressure from 4 to 1.5 BAR for 1988. So the McLaren dropped from 950 HP to about 650 HP.
