I believe it’s also causing wrecks right at the starting line, the last couple of races I’ve had to make a hard right or left while blowing the tires off my car when the person in front of me is playing clash of clans lol, and it bottles traffic up behind that point.
Aye, I’ve had the same problem. I start to pull away and the guy in front hasn’t started moving so hard turn to avoid. The action of me turning probably cause people behind to react increasing the chances of a start line wreck.
I miss the delay. Gave me time to grab a drink, check messages and finish the sentence in a book.
Its fine in my opinion… is it also a faster loading screen?
I’m a huge fan of selecting to “Load a tune”, selecting said tune, then agreeing to choose that tune, and then getting yet ANOTHER prompt asking if I want to install it.
What were these guys thinking, seriously? That a player would choose a tune, agree to choose that tune and then change his mind?
Software developers have some serious synapse deficiencies to even think the stuff they push on end users is anywher near acceptable. Common sense and software developers have long since parted ways.

Wow, after reading the responses on this thread how can anyone complain about 1st corner pile ups? If your attention span is so short that you can’t focus for a few minutes on the MULTIPLAYER race you are about to compete in with real live people then I don’t know what to tell you. A few minutes of peace without distractions would probably be a benefit to one’s health if not sanity. I know I’m probably in the minority here, but geez their are so many real issues to address than whether someone is paying enough attention to be ready at the start of the MULTIPLAYER race that they selected. No wonder I run into the back of people who don’t start the race. Please put the book down, put the phone down, show some respect to the rest of us or stick to single player.
I’m just throwing out there how I feel about the subject. If you don’t agree just ignore and pass over this post because I probably won’t respond.

The countdown should be longer for sure. Lots of good reasons have been mentioned but I will add you have no time now too look around and gauge who is starting near you and what type of car they are in. Take R class for example. Many of the Race cars have a goofy launch and occasionally stall. So when I see some one in a Lancia Turbo etc… I know that I may need to swerve right away. Also I looked behind me and see a AWD maxed out pile of crap being driven by XxX Elite Haxor XxX or some such silly name I can expect for that person to drive right up my tail pipe. So I like to avoid those things. The way it is now its not enough time.
