With the new update, when the race environment finally appears, there’s IMMEDIATELY the countdown to start the race.
It wasn’t like this before. It gave you an extra 2 or 3 of seconds to get ready! Heck, it was always like this in ANY racing game ever made!
I don’t like this thing. Am I the only one?
Sometimes it can take ages to load a multiplayer race. You can get distracted, not fully 100% ready looking at your screen and ready with the fingers on the triggers. And sometimes it happens that you, or another player in the race is not ready, so another crash and pile up is caused.
You know sometimes it can take ages to load a multiplayer race. You can get distracted, not fully 100% ready looking at your screen and ready with your fingers on the triggers.
Before this update we had (and also in previous forza titles) an extra 2 or 3 of seconds before the 3-2-1 race countdown. Heck, it was always like this in ANY racing game ever made!
Wouldn’t be so bad of the MP loading times weren’t so inconsistent. At least previously you could put the controller down and turn your attention to something else until it had finished. Now you have to sit there at the ready the whole time.
Hope they change it back. I don’t see in what way this is supposed to be an improvement.
At least you get a count down. Every race I run I have to sit through the intro and while the intro is running the race has started. The intro is the one that explains the quick stop feature. Any one else have this issue?
So people used to complain it took too long to start a race
And now they are complaining it’s not long enough because they are too busy doing other things while waiting
You people are just never happy
Yeah, but given the waiting times are so long, being able to put the controller down and pick up your phone, or start rolling a… ciggie, or whatever made the loading times a bit less unbearable. Now we have loading times that are just as excruciatingly long, but we have to sit at the ready with controllers in hand the whole time staring at those damned track renders or else we miss the start. They’ve basically taken away the only useful 3 seconds out of the hundreds it takes to load a track, which is an odd way to improve things.
It may well be, but if a track usually takes a minute to load and someone’s internet is so crap that it’s taking 3 minutes then that person is likely to be glitching all over the place in the race anyway. The servers should be dropping those people back to the lobby rather than waiting for them.
But that’s besides the point. The loads are long for whatever reason, and removing the 3 seconds pre-countdown time hasn’t improved that, but it has made it more unpleasant to sit through.
You join a lobby, if you are lucky the race is just finishing, the track selection process is carried out and then you pick your car, then load a tune.
Then you wait for the timer to hit zero, then you wait for the race to load, the time can vary depending on connections/track etc.
During this time some people may not have anything to do, so they check their village on Clash Of Clans or whatever flicks their buttons.
Suddenly, bang your on the track, and omg where’s my controller, wtf I’ve only 3 seconds.
It wouldn’t hurt for the time to be extended by 2 or 3 seconds thus giving people a fair amount of time to ready up.
My only complaint is that it doesn’t seem like it gives you enough time to find your right RPM for a good start… I loved how in Forza 4, you actually had your hud up (for those who race in 3rd person) and time to hit your mark.
Since playing Forza 6, I can never get my launch right, and it bothers the hell out of me. I’m forced to just floor it, and feather enough to get rid of wheelspin.
