March comes in like a lion...and breaks things ;-)

A few problems with the March update and car pack that will hopefully be resolved quickly:

  1. The dash is broken on the Lincoln Continental from the car pack. What does that sweep represent? Speed? RPM? Oscillations from the Overthruster? Who knows? Will this be a #Forzathon accomplishment? Stay tuned…

  2. The red line on the tach for the Jag from the car pack is set at 6K, but the motor is redlining at 8,500 homologated and 8,000 stock. Sort of immaterial in the grand scheme, but an enormous pain for those who drive cockpit or dash mode. Please fix, as this car is both a challenge and a riot to drive. Plus, it has one of my all time favourite liveries.

  3. Sadly, it appears that the Drivatar custom liveries are broken again. I did eight races in single player - one for each of the new cars, plus an extra Brabham race - and there wasn’t a single custom livery to be seen. The Alfa’s race against a sea of identical Maserati’s was depressing. And it shouldn’t be, because that Alfa is the cat’s pyjamas - one of the few cars in the game that really conveys a sense of speed…

There are people having problems with more important things then a dash or redlines,i never really look at the dash when racing anyways.

While this is true, “meh who cares, we have screwed up other stuff worse” isn’t really the mindset Turn 10 should have if they have any interest in putting out a quality product.

Quality is in the details, after all.

While this is true also, there are people who would complain because there was a scuff mark on their new Lambo’s tire, you know i’m right.

One problem isn’t mitigated by others. That’s like saying “well someone has it worse so stop complaining”. He’s right, that’s not the mindset that T10 should have.

You have it wrong,i’m saying there are more problems with the game that needs fixed ASAP,CTD’s,crashing period, slow loading times in car menu, etc, fix these, then worry about a tachometer and such!!

Also, the redline problem is a genuine issue if you drive in cockpit or dash mode with no HUD, like some of us are wont to do.

Yeah,i understand, there are just so many bugs that have been here forever, sadly,i don’t think they will ever get fixed, its on to FH4 and FM8 now.

Well I just took out 3 of the new cars to the Alps full track and not a single time was recorded had some good clean laps with times in to 10% Homogised and nada no lap times posted.Doubl checks me Assists settings and was what I normaly have Friction Assist was off so yep will do a reboot and try a bit later and that Volvo is a riot to drive lots of slide may make a top Drift car with the right tune.

It’s been broken for a while and I don’t know when it was broken.

In fact, Drivatars will not upgrade their cars in Free Play either, even with the option set to Yes.

This title has had really poor support unfortunately and this is a trend that began with Horizon 3. 4K won’t fool gamers for long if bugs like these keep popping up and patches keep breaking things.

I hadn’t realized this was still broken for some people. It’d been fixed for several months for me, and just re-broke last night after the update. I hadn’t noticed them not upgrading their cars - probably because I tend to race by homologation rather than class. I’ll look out for this.:+1:

Perhaps semi-related, I did a quick Elf livery for the Brabham and freeplayed a race at The Glen. The paint had turned to These Aren’t The Paints You’re Looking For Grey, but both the default decals and my decals were still on the car, albeit in all-white. A game restart resolved it, but given all the other glitches, I hope this doesn’t presage more troubles ahead.

I’m washing my hands of Forza series track games!
Turn 10 keeps releasing cars THAT I CAN’T EFFING USE!!! The homologation system is SUPPOSED to set a performance index that is ATTAINABLE FOR EVERYTHING IN THE GROUP!! But pre 1940 vehicles CAN’T ATTAIN HOMOLOGATION! Which means a lot of the most awesome DLC cars CAN’T BE USED in single player! “So just play online” you say, I don’t want to play online, the vast majority of people won’t or can’t drive clean. This means I am paying for eye candy, UNUSEABLE cars, such as the new Alfa and Bugatti, that THE GAME WON’T LET ME DRIVE! EVEN IN FREEPLAY!!! The Homologation system is SO overpowered that it breaks the game. Turn 10 won’t effing remove it, or add a TEST DRIVE option in the tuning menu. I mean, why can’t they make a quick and dirty patch that allows you to turn off homologation in single player? Just have the Drivatars homologate to the player’s vehicle like they do in Horizon 3. If Turn 10 refuses to make the DLC useable, then I WANT A REFUND, and I can’t be the only one!

LOL the Bugatti can reach B625, mate. Try installing custom wheels on it.

If you prefer it stock, well, you’re not gonna die because of a single PI point, are you? My Type 35 is stock-look at B624. Difference is negligible.

The rest you’re complaining about is all fluff, as Test Drive is in Free Play, they only inverted the steps.

You can also use stock cars in Free Play if you try to learn how the menus work instead of whining on the forums.

New account, probably either a secondary of a regular user trying to hide, or someone who came here just to whine about something because they are unhappy with their purchase.

Nothing in their post is correct.

This has been a problem in the forums. Not only are there alts but also people who stealthily give likes to posts like these, inflating their reputation as a result.

Since we all know Turn 10 does read the forums, otherwise we wouldn’t have gotten the 991 GT3 RS as a Bounty reward, these guys are resorting to tactics like these.

It was semi-working before this update. I normally had full field of custom liveries but on some tracks I did not. Now seemingly no custom liveries at all.

Guessing you did those races in Free-Play mode, Drivatar Liveries have never worked in Free-Play in FM7, Only Career races.

Ah, good point - you are correct, they were Free Play events. I’ve just put the career to bed and had been spending most of my time in Leagues. This is the first time I’d really spent much time in Free Play, so I guess I just noticed it now. Shame, as there are so many interesting cars in the freak divisions now that I’m interested in running events with them. Here’s hoping T10 can find their way to open some Major Micros and Forza Specials hoppers or leagues.

Major Micros on the shortest tracks can be quite fun.

I loaded up FM7 to check out the new car pack. Game locked up scrolling thru the Garage which never happened before. I didn’t get mad or aything about it. Just shrugged and went and raced in FH3. I found this just to be par for the course.
