Made in Mexico story

idk, i really don’t have a problem with the narration in these stories, maybe because i’m not really listening to them and just focusing on the current objective. i did notice however a few times i finished the event before the voiceover was complete. it seems if you want to actually hear the story you’re not going to get three stars on the event…

This. More forced engagement brilliance…

" Hey guys, how can we get everyone to play the story chapters twice to double our player numbers ? "

" Um, tell them to “repeat” ? "

" Nah, that only works for shampoo. "

" Oh yeah… wait, what ? ! I don’t have to use twice as much ? "

" How about we make the dialogue so long that if they want to hear it all they’ll never get 3 stars ? "

…and that children is how Rami was promoted to head of marketing.

That’s what I don’t get. Some people can both listen to the story and focus on driving. Others need to focus soley on driving and that’s ok. But why tell a story like this to begin with? Why not tell a story through a skippable video that people can watch at their own leisure without focusing on anything else…

Yeah, I can usually pay enough attention to the story but at least once (twice I think) in this go around I took the expected short cuts and the story got clipped before it felt like it was complete. I don’t anticipate doing it again just for the dialogue. Of course I might end up co-op with a friend and get it then.

Driving and racing games don’t need stories they should just be about the cars and driving, take for example TDU2 and the lame solar crown single player storyline it was utter drivel and easily the worst part of the game, just give players the cars the races and forget the trying to give the nonsense background stories about npcs that no one cares about, in fact drop the npcs all together.

although i agree with most of what you said here, i will say there have been rare instances in the past with driving/racing games that had a decent storyline. some old NFS titles come to mind. that being said, it would be nice to be able to skip the dialogue (or review it for that matter) like other titles allow in their games.

In some way it feels like the approach Rockstar is using for its mission storytelling in GTA and Red Dead.
They went from telling everything upfront in a cut scene to delivering much of the character development & banter during the driving/riding to the mission target.

PG just isn’t experienced enough to get the pacing right. It’s like someone reads an article instead of how information is conveyed during a dialogue.

That’s why it does not catch me.

I’m surprised how much time PGG are spending on content like this which has next to no replayability. These stories are definitely a one time thing. The Hot Wheels expansion does have replayability IMO but for so many it was merely a few days content. This upcoming Donut DLC is bound to be the same.

IDK why they don’t spend time on fun replayable content instead. Eliminators arrival in FH4 is a great example of time we’ll spent. What they developed was not just fun but extremely replayable.

New tracks are the most easily replayable content. It’s the best way to keep the racing game fresh and I don’t understand why they never do it. There’s less tracks in fh5 I think than there were in fh4.

Agreed. Why can’t we get an asphalt racetrack or three on the Mexico map? There’s more than enough empty space. A superspeedway would be nice. Something other than street/road tracks. Big omission for a racing game.

I agree. I did a lot of laps on the Lego raceway in Horizon 4.

Why can’t we just combine Motorsport and Horizon?
Adding racetracks to Horizon or
a OpenWorld Map to Motorsport

there is no need for two games

Combining them makes way too much sense. PGG and T10 would be able to lower development costs and pull in a bigger audience. Can’t have that. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Although the two games are similar they are also vastly different. Horizon is an open world semi arcade racing/driving simulator. Whereas Motorsport is a racing simulator and focuses solely on that. I wouldn’t merge them.

You only need 500 points in the first car. And you really don’t need to go down the path at all.

For 3 stars you need 50,000 for both I believe.

Nope. Just the newer car.
