Same for me, i still remember how rewarding Forza 1 2 and 3 were.
When i booted up Forza 6 for the first time i was greeted with 10.000.000 and plenty of cars.
Oh boo hoo, is the millennial hating older generation feeling left out? Oh well, don’t forget, not everything caters specifically to you. They don’t need to cater to the bitter old Generation X’s any more than they do other generations, get over it.
Also keep in mind that these rewards are entirely optional. There’s numerous ways to get rid of the rewards as soon as the game starts, use them if you don’t want the rewards. But don’t try and force other people to miss out on them just because you demand that there be no rewards.
I’m not saying that they shouldn’t, i’m just thinking that they should ask money for it.
Just look at how well Take2 is doing with all that Shark Card nonsense.
Edit : Just read that paying for Tokens is already a thing…
Well since you were tier 2 yesterday and are now tier 4 (thanks to the token boost) you wouldn’t get much so you would still have plenty of work to do in the game.
Oh dear god, please no. I hope to hell that we never get anything near as bad as those Shark Cards.
Hang on. Are you saying they should charge money for rewards? Are you mad. The way to get said rewards is by buying and playing their games and DLC’s, even tokens for some titles. That would be a payment would it not?
I was being sarcastic about the shark cards, that’s just criminal.
But yeah, letting people pay for extra, ridiciulous amounts of money would be a better option for me, but make it cheap.
This video explains it allot better then i could : Click
There’s no reward in actually playing the career, online or free play, so why even bother?
Problem is that they listened to the millenials who couldn’t afford a Ferrari 250 or a GT40 because they dont have any patience whatsoever.
Yeah i’ve seen the threads, eventhough i had a long break from Forza, having the cars in free-play wasn’t enough for them.
It ruins the game for the more mature gamers who like to actually play the game, and set goals.
But like you said before, you can’t cater to everyone, let it be GenX, millenials or babyboomers, hardcore or casual, so compromises need to be made.
But taking the biggest part of the actual game out, earning your credits and building a car collection, is just wrong imho.
About 3-4 years ago they turned off the servers for FM2. I remember playing it a lot as I had a few of the longer achievements to do so I made sure to get them before they shut down the servers.
What the hell is your problem with millennials? You come across like every other bitter old Gen X’er I’ve encountered. “Wah, the millennials are the worst, and I’m so much more morally better than them”. I bet there was more than just millennials that complained, but oh no “it’s all the millennials fault, they ruin everything!”.
The credit earning, collection building aspect is still there though, albeit in a lesser form. You make it sound like it’s gone completely.
I’ve often said there should be two modes, one grinder mode, more like the earlier FM games, and one mode with a credit system like FM6.
From the sound of it though, you can alter how much you earn using mod cards in FM7, so you may have your wish granted. As far as the loyalty rewards go, it’s easy enough to get rid of them if you don’t want them.
Yeah i know the people complaining werent only millenials, there were also busy dads, who didn’t have time to play the game, yet wanted to play the game… priorities.
And yes i am a little bit fed up with kids these days, here’s a comic to illustrate my point better.
Point being, people should be rewarded for actually doing something, like playing trough the career, or actually winning some races, not for just having played previous games, or logging on daily.
But if i’m correct Dan said that the auction house would be back, meaning that the economy must’ve been corrected somewhat.
I Only started with Forza Titles when FH3 came out as I was a purely PC gamer, but have since done FM5/6 and 6 APEX plus FH2 to get some more points… Mainly tuning, paining and online points left but can’t be bothered with trying to get those…
You receive tier points for Gamerscore, played days, cars you own, player level and so on. its not only loggin in or something like that. You dont get reward for doing “nothing”.
Each to their own i guess, i didn’t find it too challenging to buy Forza’s from 1 to 6, and to actually play them.
Do i really need a reward for that?
I would rather have a small discount on DLC or the next game or something… thats how supermarkets and shops reward returning customers.
Or you know, make returning players VIP’s so that it actually means something.
Because they want to enjoy the game with the little free time they’ve got, without the need to grind. So what? It’s a damn video game, let them enjoy it.
I swear you’ve completely glossed over what people have said. You are rewarded for doing something. Playing through the entirety of precious games isn’t exactly an insignificant feat.
The servers are up (likely because the Hoppers use the same servers the modern games do) but you can’t buy any DLC or microtransations, or even buy the game itself digitally. That’s what End of Life refers to.
