So I was playing FH2 on my xbox one, online free roam, when my console froze. I hard reset, started up the game and it is acting like it is my first time playing Horizon 2. It keeps giving me the intro / drive the Lamborghini to the festival. I was almost at the Horizon Finale too.
I thought the game saves to online servers so I don’t understand why this is happening.
Is anyone having this problem?

Ive just had the same issue a freeze of game and then restarted to find that im now stuck at a car meet all my progress in championships has gone which im 3 of getting to the finale and all my cars have gone as well along with all my barn finds to. This is an issue that has to be set right as ive invested a lot of time i n this game and if its not fixed will be goi ng back.
Yeah, I really don’t want to have to start back at square one. Is this problem common? You are the only other person Ive heard of having this, the rest are just crashes and freezes, not save problems.
Kind of sad that people had, and have this issue still to this day even on Forza 5. And now it’s on this game also? Sure hope my file didn’t vanish I had the game crash as I tried to fast travel, and didn’t reload the game just turned it off and figured I’d take a break! crosses fingers.
I blame the crappy cloud to be frank. I’d rather store my game files on the console, and backup on a thumb drive. Like a few tiny MB game save will fill up our HDD /sigh.
Just lost my save as well. Was a level 101 with about 9 million worth of cars and credits

Last time i played everything was fine but now im a bit afraid to start again
Happened to me as well. But I fixed it. Try resting your system cache. Hold the xbox one power button for about 10 seconds until it turns off. Then wait like 10 seconds and turn your console back on. Start up the game and everything should be fine.
Tried it and it still starts me from the beginning.
Well this game is a total joke. How can you release a game like this only to put hours into it for it to freeze and thentake all youre cars and progress away one you restart your game. I tried the hard reset and unpluged for 30 mins but it still left me in a car meet unable to get into any more races.
Ive now reinstalled game and deleted both saves the one on console and the one in cloud as the cloud save was also corrupt. I hope turn 10 give me somthing for doing this as ive lost 15 hours of game play in game and now im back at the start. Im not the only one with this issue so this needs to be addressed as I and im sure many outhers will be very reluctant to play any way into game until its patched.
Any word on when this will be fixed? Or at the least remedied?
I was driving against one of my rivals and after I beat the time and the game should have given me credits it crashed with that buzz sound. After I loaded up the game again everything was fine except for two things: I lost ALL my 67 cars except for the BMW that I chose at the beginning of the game and I lost all my perks 
Agreed. Cloud saves should let you back up files to prevent loss of data, not create issues that corrupt your data…
Sorry to all this happened them, it must be frustrating after playing so much and having to loose everything.
Does anyone know if we can save game files in a USB back up device?
My buddy was playing the other day and said my drivatar is lvl 1 now.
