A little frustrated seeing every five-star tune has its speed bar jutting out to 9 and handling somewhere around 4, I want to ask for recommended tunes and tuners who focus on circuit-ready cars in d, c, b classes and—my special interest right now—cult classics, rare classics, classic racers, etc. I’m enjoying these cars because I’m finding the slower speeds make the game feel just slightly less arcade-y and the cars slightly more car-like.
Anything by HLR PRkid, HLR Moss and HLR Infidel will serve you very well. RPM Swerve has good stuff too. There alot of others but they come to mind right now. I’ve got some very fun but impractical cars at the moment. Getting some of these slower cars worked out as I run more rivals stuff. I’ll share things as I get them built.
Thanks for shout out. I don’t tune much for those classes lately. That’ll change eventually.
One of my favorites is the Maserati barn find. I have a tune posted for that in D. It’s an FM6-style acceleration tune. I think it’s my only “normal” tune posted. I think the rest are stupid HP tunes with awd or just massive HP and rwd.
It beat the AI on unbeatable but didn’t have the AI handling. Still not sure how the AI had that much handling in this car.
I have only shared ONE tune, yet, have several pretty decent ones available. For this game, I’ve run the majority of times with STOCK cars…lol…so, need to get more tunes prepared and out for use by the community.
I think Moss might have tunes out, yet, not 100% sure. In addition to the tuners listed above, there are some great tuners listed under the FM6 Tuners area, and if they are on H3 you can follow them. Too bad the games do not transfer over your “followed” tuners/painters between FM and H.
@ OP - please list cars/class/track you’d like and I’ll take a look at putting something together.
Lol, my bad. Well I tried, haha. I haven’t really gotten away from making cars that are more or less just for me, like the S1 Non Aero Syclone with 1008 hp. Soooo much fun to drive, great for head to head races. I got about a 11:40 on the Goliath with. It’s a handful to drive and like I said, just doesn’t make alot of sense but such fun!
Well, OP, you can’t go wrong with any of these guy’s tunes for FM6. And after some time, tunes for FH3 will be forthcoming, from many! Lol
By the way, Kid, are you HKR guys gonna be starting anything up for Horizon like you had in 6? xCriMinaLx and I have been getting antsy for some HLC’s!! It’s gotten really quiet lately, lol.
Thanks guys. I’m going to be checking out the tunes today. I saw a list posted for Infidel’s tunes. Do the other guys have lists? Otherwise it’s like looking for a needle in a haystack.
I’ve shared about a dozen D class tunes. They’re all great for single player and beating unbeatable drivatars. No clue how they’d do against humans since nobody races D online, but they’re fun cars nonetheless.
Sorry, no list off the top of my head, but generally barn finds and other more popular cars.
I don’t have a list. I have around 20 tunes shared and I probably won’t create a list because I’m too lazy to keep it up. Lol. The best you’ll get out of me is random posts if I find a super fast weirdo car and the occasional “tune is shared” comment in a random thread.
All players posting lists on here are worth trying.
If you do a search with those gamertag, find something of theirs then follow them, their stuff will always show up 1st when you buy a car/look for paintjobs or look for tunes. I’ve got more paintjobs than tunes right now but am starting to work on some tunes starting with D class. I’m alot like Swerve as far as having mostly just built and shared S1 street rods or AWD rockets., or basically just FUN cars. There’ll be much more real tunes/builds as time goes by.
It’s really interesting that you say you’ve been using the cars stock. I started to think I should be playing the game the same way, not just to cut down on the time I spend not driving, but because the cars seem to have more uniqueness that way. I have optimization fever – I love finding a car and tune that seem perfectly suited to each other, but if I think about what else I really enjoy in the game it’s the old cars with their floaty cornering, the modeling of the particularities of each car, having the wrestle with the weaknesses of the cars, etc. There’s probably a lot to be said for the stock playstyle.
I can dig that for sure. I’m one of the few that would love to see Motorsport physics and realism in the Horizon series. Maybe even a combined garage between the 2 games. I know you can “import” tunes from 6 and stuff, but they dont feel the same. The cool thing with Horizon is that by staying in the stock cars for career, you’re only going up against other stock cars.
Sounds good, man. Not bein’ cheesy but I’m missin’ the action and the back and forth of the HLC’s. Still hoping to get a bunch of us cruising around the outback some night. Run some Goliaths or something. Anyway, I’ll keep my eyes out for anything.
What, you aren’t a fan of all the 1000hp v8 swapped Subarus dominating the rival leaderboards? I don’t think it would be so bad if they actually had to take turns properly instead of just taking crazy offroad lines plowing through shrubs.
If you are interested in cult classics, rare classics, classic racers
I would invest in three cars
The alfa romeo giulia sprint gta stradale 300,000
Alfa giulia tz2 1,000,000
and the shelby cobra 2,400,000
The Alfa romeo giulia stradale is the best D class car, bar none. Seriously I can get a top 10 rivals time in every track with this car right now. I uploaded a handling tune but some of the more acceleration tunes may be better. in fact any tune with this car is better then any other car in d class
The alfa giulia tz2 is viable in 3 classes
The c class tune is viable as a handling car 5.7 5.8 with 8.0 acceleration
the b class tunes should be acceleration based with poor handling
The a class should be a handling car around 7.5 with 8.5 acceleration
The shelby cobra is pretty good in b and s1
I uploaded a b class tune that you could try out.
I’ve got a pretty solid '40 Ford Deluxe in D Class that runs exceptionally well off road. Put up a pretty good C Class Old School Skyline, the '70’s one. Have a really nice A Class Holden Ute. If ya give them a try, let me know what ya think!
His Ford deluxe is no joke. Before the leaderboards stopped accepting new times I noticed that car up there. Obviously he hit on something off road.
I posted an original motor Monte Carlo for C. It’s slow and will likely get torched by everything but it likes the road and dirt and isn’t a retarded build. It’s the best tune since sliced bread. Actually I didn’t really tune it that hard. Just reduced all the stupid stock understeer settings.
The movement is on. Keep it original folks. I don’t always follow it, but when I do I will voice my successes as a trend setter.
Thanks man! Kind words Swerve! I’m doing my best to keep building things that make sense, but I can’t get away from, A, S1 street machines for the Goliath and, 2, I’ve got some weird thing with the Syclones in this game, lol.
I just made a pretty cool old school GMG paint job along with 2 Twin Turbo RWD rockets. One has full aero, 994hp saved as “Dr Jekyl” and the other is rear aero only, 1008hp street madness saved as “Mr Hyde”.
Have plans one hopefully finishing off the series with an S2 AWD beast that shall be named the Hurricane, or something else really cheesy, lol!!
