Excellent track! The attention to detail is outstanding, as well as the new cars in the car pack!! It got me thinking how awesome it would be to see Circuit of the Americas in the series. Not that i’m down playing the Long Beach add-on, but rather how amazing the studio is.
I still see people saying they can not find Long Beach in career. It is easily missed. If you have completed a lot or all of career then it will appear as a completed race in the middle of the series.
Do not look for numbers. Go into the screen where you select the track and check for the Long Beach Track. ManteoMax has posted the list of where it is - try production rally for example.
I was definitely excited about a new and different track, but BLAH! Graphics and scenery are great, but racing the track is very bland. I would prefer more coding for game play (ie racing) and less for scenery…if T10 can’t deliver both. And why in the world are we already given gold medals for a track we have never raced?! Tighten up T10.
I may be in the minority here, but does anyone else here find Long Beach a bit… underwhelming?
Just a bunch of 90-degree turns and short straits. Add the fact there’s walling on 100% of the track, and those bends become a dirty racer’s wildest dream. NOT looking forward to running this track in MP with anyone I don’t know is a good racer.
But, that’s just MY 2 cents, what do YOU all think?
Scenery-wise, I like it. The street nature is a nice change of pace. As for how it races, my initial impression is “Midget Yas”. Like a Yas Marina that somebody left in the dryer too long.
Regarding the MP comment, I’m pretty much done with the public hoppers, period. So, can’t help you there.
I seem to be having a major issue here. Forza 5 downloaded the update and Long Beach is installed but not working. I select one of the cars to download it for free and it says Installation is at 0%. I checked all of the cars and the Jaguar D-Type is the only one with any percentage done and it is sitting at 20%. It won’t let me race Long Beach either even though it is in my track list. Any idea(s) on why this is happening? I’m not looking forward to the possibility of having to reinstall the entirety of Forza 5 and all of the dlc.
Anybody think the California Drive achievement is a bit too high skilled? Only like 50 people in the world have been able to beat 15,000 drift points so far, I myself got to almost 11k in my best lap. In my opinion to make it less hair-pulling, make it 2 laps for 15,000 points or 10,000 in 1 lap for the achievement. Just the size of the track and half the turns being small makes this so frustrating.
Whoever had the idea to tie this to an achievement should be forced to drive a Yugo in real life for a week.
I’m all for having to work to earn an achievement, but this is ridiculous unless Forza is your life… after an hour or so at this, I haven’t broken 10,000. More people will likely have the last Bounty Hunter car than this. I try to get 100%, but 20G isn’t worth the stress to me. Especially when Grand Prix Veteran is worth 25G and just needs you to make laps… I’m at 64% of that one just from doing the GP of Long Beach Challenge.
This should have been a Challenge, not an achievement.
The track is great,a real challenge and the graphics and scenery is Amazing, it’s the best track in the game IMO! The only thing I can complain about is too much sun glare in some cars cockpit view, but apart from that, the track is a mega hit, and the carpack is a great addition… Thanks’ T-10
OK, enjoying the challenge of Long Beach but I have one question to ask. Does anyone know if in the Career Minded Achievement has to be won by redoing all the races in Career that are for Long Beach? My record is set on the screen as 29/29 Gold in all the races that were automatically filled in with the Upgrade. Before I go off to redo 20 of them to get the Achievement, does anyone have the same trouble or have you just redone them anyway or is the Career Minded decided not to ‘pop’?
The Long Beach events replace existing events, so the event count does not increase. They’re also not in every League Series. See the Week in Review chart of where to find the Long Beach events in Career:
With any achievement like this try it once and then go to achievements and check the counter.
For this achievement redoing events that you already have gold in do increase the counter so find one and do it 20 times or fine them all and enjoy the variety. It matters not if they already have gold on them.
Thanks for the info. Another question tho. I did not know that was a counter for this type of Achievement, only for the one’s like Wing & Prayer with the Chaparral. Where do you find this Counter?
Update…just ran 3 races on the LB full circuit in Career, won x3 Gold but nothing popped. Funny thing tho’ a Modern Super Mini went flying past over the flower bed which was a bit of a shock! Now off to try the other 17 that I need to do to get the Career Minded Achievement!
Go to your profile tile on dash and press A (the tall one on the left). Scroll down to My Profile press A. Scroll right to Forza 5 press A. Scroll to the achievements you don’t have ie far right. Press A on the one in question and a % should come up.
