List everything you think is wrong with the game

That is what I think is wrong with the game:
Menus (Worst menus I ever experienced in any game)
Sound (Self Explanatory) They should prioritize sound mapping first, before doing anything else
Career Mode (Basically doesn’t exist)
AI (We all know how horrible the AI is)
Graphics (Grass still looks horrible)

I’ve been occasionally getting that too for the past couple months when I begin a practice or qualifying session in Featured Multiplayer.

There are numerous things that grind my gears but I despise especially the smaller issues that result in an inconvenient gaming experience like:

  • In the current BMW featured Multi-Class MP series it constantly(!!) resets tunes of the A700 cars to stock. Then, you have to back out of the event, head over to the tuning booth, reload the tune and head back into the event hoping it won’t reset it again. Really, how hard can it be to programm this correctly?

  • Desync of Rivals ghosts. I’m testing all my cars on the Nordschleife vs. the same ghost as a visual reference point to see where on the track my builds/cars excel or lack. But after a rewind (which is a good tool when testing on such a long track) the ghost may desync from the time. I once rewinded 5 times on purpose and the ghost was 2 seconds off its time at the line. Meaning the visual reference point becomes inaccurate after a rewind.

  • Selecting/loading designs. I wanted to load the golden Cadillac design we got. Took a good 8 minutes to apply it on the car. Afterwards the whole menu was lagging in such an extent I had to close & restart the game.

Highly irritating and must be an easy fix:

Might as well list a few:

  • The car list resetting every time you go into it - how hard is it to at least focus it on the car I’m in;
  • The poor quality of the tune search option - particularly the fact that after about 10 tunes it takes forever to load each new one;
  • The rewind glitch mentioned above - it’s not the ghost desyncing, it’s the time for that specific lap being inaccurate, which is completely unacceptable in a mode where lap times are key;
  • Career mode races being completely fixed - no ability to change race length, tyre wear etc to enable us to make the game fun for us as we see fit;
  • No qualifying in single player as an option - just why?;
  • Lack of even basic stats.

The overall lack of passion and care for the game grind my gears.

This game was put together by people that just needed to get the job done in order to pay their bills and it shows in every aspect of the game. Like reusing car models from 20 years ago, the horrific UI, horrendous AI, Career is just a bunch of random races glued together, bugs not getting fixed, etc… etc…

I have made edits to this list.

Most of it still applies today.

Adding to the original post adding upgraded race cams doesn’t change the engine sound in game. In real life it would go from stock to vibrating the stones around the car I know how much power a cam adds to a engine from building my first race engine from stock and my eyes light up like 100 watt light bulbs and my jaw drop in awe over the new found exhaust note from the stock to race engine build.

Adding race exhaust donesnt make a car lope( the idle you hear). If the cam was big enough it would only further compliment the stock or lopey exhaust note by making it less restricted to full race exhaust. Each upgrade should upgrade the sound decibel in increments becoming more raspy and raw.

How they copy and paste engine sounds from different cars and even mix them. For example the new lovely nascar. Let’s give it the same idle exhaust note as the ford #15 whistler mustang. Got news for you the trans am whistler mustang and nascar are completely different engines from the oil pan to the top of the engine, different heads, cams, exhaust setups. Let’s not get into other cars in the game I could be here all day.

Just seems like laziness to not actually go through the cars fully so they have their own authentic sounds… heck I’d do this for free if I knew how. Just for the sake of all of us gamers to have something and enjoy. Sure it would take some time but I’d make sure each car had its own identity.

If you’re coming out with an update and things arnt working smoothly, and ready yet, don’t rush it. Delay the update and let us know. We will understand and wait patiently for something that’s done right.

Pretty much all of this.

This game feels like a CORPORATE PRODUCT and not a PASSION PROJECT.

The lack of real tire wear.

Worth noting that this is the intro to the career:

“build, tune, practice and perfect your driving skill in this ongoing and EVER GROWING solo career mode.”

15 months after release it’s exactly the same size as it started.

Just add it to the list of “promised, but not delivered” things.

I think the only things that they got correct in the pre-release hype was the name of the game and the price. Everything else was either a very “generous” interpretation, or a flat out lie.

They lost any goodwill they had from the community within the first month, and have been working on destroying optimism ever since.

This game is too good to just work.
Every few updates I have things like this happen. Some events just don’t work. Sometimes it helps to restart this tournament, sometimes to change the car, reset car tuning, etc. This time, I tried all these things, no result. The game just closes in the first seconds of practice. Even if I don’t drive anywhere, the game will close after a while. If I skip practice and start the race, the same thing happens. A year and a half after release, even basic functionality continues to glitch in this game.

I’m hesitant to even grant it that much, because I’ve played corporate products that had more passion infused into them than this game does. Hell, I’m playing two of them right now - Gran Turismo 7 and The Crew Motorfest. Both of those games are very much corporate products, and yet you can feel the effort in both of those games.

Motorsport 2023 is different, and not in a good way. If it were a Corporate Product, it would be an improvement. This game is dead-inside soulless. There is no passion, there is very little effort, and the only thing it currently has going for it is predatory and borderline-offensive carrot dangling. If Malicious Compliance were a video game, Forza Motorsport 2023 would be it.

I’m nearly 100% convinced that Turn 10’s big plan for the 20th Anniversary update is to simply put all of the previous playlists back into the game, call it a day, and slink back into the shadows while easily-pleased people proclaim that this is the greatest update to ever hit video games enough times to cover their escape. I have no faith that they’ll do anything worthwhile anymore. Why should I? Biggest thing they’ve done since release was “fix” CarPG.

Well they reverted the X class lobbies back to short races so they end in 7 minutes.

There are few which are conditional, and I dont think those will be fixed as these are not acknowledged because these inconveniences depends on the player. Here are mine:

  1. Jumping to practice/qualy in Road America puts you in a very difficult position when AI hands over controls.
  2. Hockenheimring, jumping to practice/qualy puts you too far away from the start/stop finish (it starts at the beginning of 3rd sector)
  3. Racing line becomes barely visible when driving against the sunlight.
  4. If I accidentally press the wrong tyre during pit, you can’t go back and change it.
  5. Fuelling for pit does not add fuel to existing fuel load, somehow they remove the old fuel and refill it accordingly to your selection.

Post yours as well.

Too many menus. No good reason why it should be that way. Takes I don’t know how many screens just to start a race. Why?
