In my opinion there should be a restriction on classes. Like A or below. Above A you really dont need that much power to drift do you. Let the hate flow in.
Yeah I would be fine with that. I was in a lobby today with a R Class Viper, P class Konsisegesgegesgegesgesgesg, and a P class Ariel Atom. It’s like really do you need that much power. In my opinion more power takes skill until you get too much power. Then it’s just turn hard into the corner and let it slide.
I would be ok with S and lower. Certain cars don’t need a ton of HP to get into the S class. Such as the Ferrari F40. Under 600 HP, Sport Tires, S Class.
That’s pretty crazy. I think my Ae86 has about 500hp.
Matter of fact, almost every car I have, has between 500 - 650hp. I would like to start going lower, down in the 400’s. I just gotta figure out the right setup to keep the tires spinning. And without having over 30psi in the tires, and without having more than -1.0 camber front and rear.
I’ve never had problems honestly. I use a 180hp AE86 as a practice car right now, and most of my car are between 450-600 depending on the weight. Do you use clutch?
And a lot of drift cars irl have WAY more than -5 front camber. I usually run between -3 and -2.
Totally disagree with all of you in this thread if any of you have ever even tried to points drift ( I mean actually points drift) you would know it is impossible to score over a 100k on alps festival without at least high 700 to 800 horsepower if anything they should make a separate game type for it like what they did with the no collisions B Class.
This is true, to score that high, you need to have a decent amount of power. However, those who score that high are in the minority. The majority is in the middle to lower tier of points drifters.
It’s a tough situation really. Do you leave it as it is to keep drifters like your self happy, but still allow people to come in with over powered race cars to either finish laps ahead of the drifters, or just smash into them and generally troll the lobby? Or do you snub the high end points drifters to try and get rid of the non-drifting trolls and put in power/tire/class restrictions?
Not an easy call really. As it stands, we have a mechanism to be rid of these trolls. We can block them and no longer have to worry about being in the same lobby as them. But this requires everyone to do so to ensure they cannot join any drift matches. It’s not easy to get such movement when people can’t be bothered to do so half the time.
Agree. Though you can get 600-800hp on a lot of cars while keeping them in mid-S-class (no race tires etc), it would be better just to have it as another game mode. Unlimited, Unlimited RWD and RWD Pro or something, where you’re limited to 700hp and A-Class.
Tyre restriction… no race or drag tyres is a must. S and below seems good, as there are some decent cars that are high A or low S that end up as S class when built, like my Viper ACR.
