Tried out the Mercedes in Touring Car this weekend now I can finally paint cars again. No wonder I never saw it in any lobbies before…so slow compared to the other Touring Cars.

It’s just that I wouldn’t expect a 1000km recreation of Sicily to be free. Even the Piccolo route would be three and a half times bigger than the Nordschleife. Honestly even as a paid DLC it probably wouldn’t be profitable.

1000km? I think that’s a bit too much… When I look at the race route it’s almost 150km. For scale, that’s around 6x as long as Nurburgring Full Circuit.
There was a 975 and a 1080km route used for a few years that did the complete tour of Sicily. Though the original route was the Grande circuit, which was shortened into the Medio in 1919 I believe largely because that’s the first section of road that was tarmacked. The Piccolo came about in the 1930s, and was again used from 1951 to the last race in 1977.

Before the 50s, a Grand Prix would be routinely more than 450km, 4 to 6 hours long. For the few years that the Targa Florio did the tour of Sicily, that was a 1000km, 24h race. Meanwhile some races were less than 200km.
It was a wild time.
