I hate driving on the wrong side of the road, please offer an american mode where cars drive correctly on the right side of the road.
I think driving on the wrong side of the road is a change up because I donât wonât to drive on the same side of the road all my life.
This post confuses me. Do you also only drive cars with left hand drive? It seems like youâre purposefully limiting yourself.
I admit Iâve caught myself in the wrong lane many times in Horizon 2 and 3, but is that really that big of a problem in a racing game where the painted lines donât really matter anyway? Iâd be much more worried about crazy Drivatars who dive bomb me from out of nowhere or dreadfully slow Drivatars who clog the highways when I want to take a 200mph cruise
I like driving on the wrong side of the road and you donât always drive on the right lane anyway
A quick Bing search produced the following explanation:
Up to the late 1700âs, everybody travelled on the left side of the road because itâs the sensible option for feudal, violent societies of mostly right-handed people.
Revolutionary France, however, overturned this practice as part of its sweeping social rethink. A change was carried out all over continental Europe by Napoleon. The reason it changed under Napoleon was because he was left handed his armies had to march on the right so he could keep his sword arm between him and any opponent.
From then on, any part of the world which was at some time part of the British Empire was thus left hand and any part colonised by the French was right hand.
In America, the French colonised the southern states (Louisiana for instance) and the Canadian east coast (Quebec). The Dutch colonised New York (or New Amsterdam).
The Spanish and Portugese colonised the southern Americas. So The British were a minority in shaping the âtrafficâ.
The drive-on-the-right policy was adopted by the USA, which was anxious to cast off all remaining links with its British colonial past.

Sweden didnât drive on the right until September 3rd 1967, when they switched.
(no they didnât start with buses & trucks!!!)
And so far Horizon has had 2 drive on the right games and 2 drive on the left so itâs fair & equalâŚ
Horizon 5 will probably be in a drive on the right countryâŚ
TL;DR revolutionaries drive on the right, Royal/Imperial countries drive on the left!
Honestly, if they did try to add the option it would be really hard and even then itâs a pointless feature. I really hope this isnât the big deal breaker for you.
So its been 2 on the left and 2 on the right, did you want it 3-1 in your favour(correct spelling)?
I see what you did there.
Itâs only the âwrongâ side of the road if you are outside the UK or Australia, Japan and most of Southeast Asia. So youâre âAmericanâ mode is not only incorrect, but also could be considered slightly arrogant.
Itâs a game any way. Itâs not real life. I dont care what side of the road you drive on in a game. I really donât see the ussue.
It is amazing the ability of the human being to always find something to complain about.
And to think that mine is the right thing ⌠and the place where to drive from others is the wrong thing.
On the other hand, nobody compels to drive on the left in the game.
Finally, it is not mandatory to buy the game if you do not like it.
Honestly, this never bothered me playing FH3. In fact, I actually enjoyed it. Sleeping Dogs was another game that gave me a nice change in driving mechanics and road rules.
Should I buy FH4, it wonât bother me there either.
Doesnât bother me either in Forza Horizon 3, and an American mode in England sounds a bit strange (-<-)
Lol. Op wants an option to drive on the âcorrectâ side of the road, guess what the left is the correct side of the road in the UK.
Doesnât matter to me. lol
