This has probably been mentioned before, but can we get an update on whether a leaderboard wipe will actually happen for certain tracks where the track limits have been altered, tyre barriers have been added in etc…
For example, Silverstone times are impossible to beat as the new tyre barrier has been added in making the times over 1s slower and also the replays are currently messed up, if you watch one, the car goes through the new tyre barrier lol
Also Hockenheim, the first corner and last corner track limits have been fixed so you can no longer cut or run wide on them anymore.
Theres more but just to name a few. It is making certain tracks on the leaderboards pointless to run.
I remember triton wrote not long ago when it was mentioned: ‘‘hold that thought’’ I believe his words were. by logic I think it would happened after the ForzaRC but I can not confirm it.
I’m sure it will be soon. Other would he incredibly unfair not to.
We’ve already noticed whilst running HLC comps that on some tracks people can’t get as high on the LB as they normally do due to the advantage gained in setting a time before the changes.
And you really haven’t a clue about the amount of work involved nor the work schedule of the Turn 10 employees, so I would keep your rude and unhelpful comments to yourself.
Last time there was a “wipe” in an earlier version of Forza Motorsport, just for a couple “glitched” cars, it took weeks and weeks to accomplish.
If you’ve got inside information and think you know better than the developers, send them an email.
True, i don’t know the schedule of anybody at Turn10, and still to change a file (which for sure it is were all the data is saved) doesn’t take much time.
Ex.: mv file_bak /path/to/file_LB
What would you expect how long a server admin needs to accomplish such an command?
IMO at this point in the game it wont happen, or if it does happen it wont be helpful. The leaderboards are already quite scarce compared to previous iterations of forza and if they do wipe them now, especially a total wipe rather than a track by track wipe will completely kill the leaderboards. I know pcars did it after one of their large updates and it was needed but on xbox it killed the lb’s there were many tracks for weeks after that wipe that hadn’t had a time set on or just a handfull. I know this is a little different as i think the player base is a bit larger plus you can populate the leaderboards without going to a special mode in order to do so but I really doubt they do it, and if so i don’t see it ever being full again.
Any news on this? Its been ages now. As another person mentioned here, a turn 10 member commented on a different thread that there will be more news on this matter, which i remember reading.
You make it sound like Leaderboards are an important part of Turn 10’s “vision” for this game.
If that were the case we would have all sorts of features, tools and so-on in order to make the most of leaderboard both in and out of the game. We don’t, and haven’t had anything remotely like that since Forza Motorsport 4.
Don’t expect updates to such a “minor” feature in a game that is over a year old.
