Well I can’t achieve 100% because of the “late” AMC Pacer, thanks Turn 10 for making such a brilliant system for your game, I have all the DLCs with 100% but guess what? I can’t get it on the main game because of that car! WHEN IS THAT CAR GONNA BECOME A NORMAL BARN FIND? I SUPPOSE I’M NOT THE ONLY PERSON THAT CAN’T ACHIEVE 100% BECAUSE OF THAT!

I find it to be an idiotic decision, to be frank, and I was around to get it!
Locking off a car itself, while I still don’t agree with it, is preferable to locking off an entire barn find that counts towards completion percentages.
I’ve got the same problem. 99.9% completion. No AMC Pacer barn find because I had completely no idea whatsoever what a Forzathon is at the time, or what barn find rumours are. When this barnfind was around, I’d only had the game for mere days or hours at most and had triggered no barn finds yet.
I believe the decision to lock game progress behind owning the game at a specific time(early enough to get this barn find) and knowing what to do is not a good one. I was lucky enough to know what Forzathon is by the time the Porsche 356 was released as a barn find, but if I hadn’t… even more missed progress.
I shouldn’t have to own the game at certain points in time to reach 100%. I don’t like Forzathon exclusive cars, but it’s at least fairer(AH price gouging not withstanding). If you miss them, you can buy them, no progress lost. Barn finds? Now I have a black spot in my barn find list forever, a taunting 99.9% completion and there’s absolutely nothing I can do about it. No amount of credits or racing will help.

Every thing they said, me too.
So far they have given everybody a another chance to get Forzathon cars they missed with the last few Forzathon events…hopefully they will do the same thing for the Pacer they did with Porsche 959 and Lykan Hypersport…it is unfortunate that you can’t complete the game due to a time limited event!

I’m locked at 98.5% on the main game, what Turn 10 could do is turn the Pacer into a normal barn find, I didn’t mention this but I’ve bought the game when it was on sale, back in april I guess? And that Forzathon event was on march, so I had not even a glimpse of chance to get it, Turn 10 messed this up real bad, it’s a shame because later Forzathon events that gave barn finds such as the Porsche 356 didn’t count towards the game completion, it’s only the Pacer that did, my chance and for those who have the same issue was to someone of Turn 10 actually seeing this and “fixing” this in the next update. Let’s hope for the best.

Forza staff have hinted on posts like this that you will be able to get your barn find / 100% completion at some point… Though mum is the word on how & when.

Well I hope it’ll be quick, as I mentioned and I’ll mention again, I’m not the only one with this problem, it can’t be that hard to fix something like this, especially for a big developer such as Turn 10, sided with Microsoft.
So what happens if they replay that event and you miss it again
You still don’t have that 100% completion
There’s no achievement or anything for it
Is it that bad you can’t get it
Is it an OCD thing
There’s so many games that do things like this so if you miss it once it never comes around again
I know it’s a stupid way to have done it
but that’s part of life when you don’t get games from the start or other real life issues cause you to miss out on things
I missed out on 6 challenges over xmas because of being away but that’s just life
I can’t get 100% completion of the challenges now but life goes on

I’d give one excuse, why can I get 100% on the DLCs but not on the main game? And I’ll say once more, adding a temporary ONLINE challenge that does count towards game completion IS a stupid idea, as you mentioned, some games actually have temporary challenges that may hinder game progression, but you can always load a save file back and re-do this challenge, no problem at all (since most of these things actually happen in some RPGs), now we’re talking about a racing video-game title and an online challenge that, I repeat, DOES COUNT TOWARDS GAME COMPLETION, why would the developers actually do something like this? You can’t reload a save file in Forza (like why would you do? But that’s not the point actually) and they just simply put something like this on a game that could be played offline, that’s the point of all this mess, and as I mentioned, if this car was the only one to hinder the progression then why were the other ones not? The Porsche 356 didn’t do anything to the progress, my point is, I spent over tons of hours to get through all that the game had to offer me and I simply can’t get this because of just a bad decision that the developers taken to do this.

They’ll release a 4K patch for the Xbox One X. The new console will come after the release of FM7 and these 4K patches will be a day one thing. So my guess is there will be some sort of last minute patch opening this stuff to all. However, I don’t think exclusive Forzathon cars like the Porsches will be available at the dealer at any point, which sucks because I want to get the 918, the GT2 RS and the GT3 4.0, but it might happen since the cars are already in the market and not everyone will keep them since people have different uses for them.

And you can always pick all of them up in the auction house

I can’t decide if I’m jealous, or feel sorry for people who can’t get 100% in FH3, jealous because I wish my real life was so perfect that this was an issue, or feel sorry because real life must be so awful that this is an issue.
I’m quite happy with 99.7% or whatever it is, no-one can see my stats anyway!

Frankly, i never understood the whole Completionist desire to get 100%. There’s no achievement for it, and as you said, people buy games at different times of the year. I’ve played many Xbox games since getting a 360 in 2009, and have only ever achieved 100% on one game (at least in terms of achievements). I hate that T10 keeps insisting on achievements for “create and share a tune” or “get 100 5-star ratings on your design”, i almost never make tunes or share my designs and i don’t feel compelled to make one just for an achievement.
But what about other games, like those not made by Turn 10? Do you hate those other companies for not being able to reach 100% completion because you missed out on them?
To me, you got 100%. Don’t let one missed car determine your whether you will buy the next game. Did you enjoy playing the game at least? If yes, that’s all that matters.

Anyone else stuck on 1245/1250 Gamerscore in FM4 because they don’t have a Kinect? I’m not buying a Kinect for 5 Gamerscore, 100% or not

Im stuck needing 350 forza hub points because i refuse to pay for tokens which should never be needed for forza games…especially for achievements or rewards

I think people are missing out on the whole point of me kind of ranting over here, the things is, I wanted to point out how stupid it is to make a temporary car through an online only event to count towards a game completion, now imagine if you would need some sort of thing to actually make progress in a game, like being stuck forever because you missed an event… On the other hand I’ll have to point out that all that completion I made was suffered a whole lot, if you’re actually a bit more hardcore you’ll maybe understand me, but playing on Unbeatable difficulty is a whole chore, there are some tracks that you could actually say that it is “easy” to beat against the drivatars, while some others aren’t, now I ain’t getting into this because that’s converging the whole point I started this thread, so I’ll say again, it’s not about completion but it’s about how an oversight can actually hinder something whether it actually does count towards something plausible, as people said, there is no achievement to 100% but needlessly to say, what if there was? You wouldn’t be able to get it because of this particular decision. I hope people can truly understand what I meant now, sorry for putting it into a “bad” way with all my stress, it’s because I literally was getting bored and sort of angry of the drivatars utterly aggressive attitude in the HotWheels DLC.

It doesn’t count towards further progression in the game and it would have been stupid to have been set up the way it was in that case…but it’s not
Hopefully for your sake they will replay the barn find for you and you will be able to be happy
Or they could just unlock it as well for all those that missed the forzathon
