Italian Automotive update (Series 24) | Forza Monthly livestream August 11

Upon further review of the list.

I might want the S4, and possibly the 037. Iā€™ll have to see when the series begins but I might just go off my diet and go for 40 biscuit dinners. Just because.

Ok something I just remembered to ask about, maybe people more knowledgeable about cars than I can answer: Why does a dual induction (supercharger/turbo) need anti-lag?

I mean, is it even possible to make a system like the Delta S4 work with anti-lag? My understanding is the the system works so that the supercharger alone is working in the low revs, both are working in the mid revs, and the turbo alone is working at the top, giving you the best of both worlds and a nice smooth power curve. Could anti-lag even work in a situation like that, and even if it could, would it be beneficial? I guess the turbo could be effective that much earlier in the revs but like I said I donā€™t really know.

Iā€™ve always love the 037. I was one of my favorites in 3 and 4. Canā€™t wait to see it return!

Wait, they added anti-lag to the Delta S4? What? Why?

I canā€™t think of any reason why you would need anti-lag on a twincharged car. The Delta S4 certainly didnā€™t have it. What purpose would that serve?

Might help if youā€™re off and then back on the gas in upper rpm ranges. I was guessing theyā€™d all be LS swapped though.

Itā€™s called programming overkill. It comes from not understanding the working mechanics of the racing engines.

Itā€™s like nitrous on a crap engine gives you loads of power but kills your engine in a couple of weeks. Whereas nitrous on a racing engine gives you a bit of a boost in power to an engine that was only designed to last a couple of weeks to start.

So in reality, it would give you a little more power but in reality, power always comes at a price. One way or another.

And, as someone else pointed out in the no more supercars thread, it gives the children something to play with.

Other thanā€¦ shut up Ronā€¦

Or, it will let the kiddies go pop pop pop and bring back memories of the donut guys

Not all! I guarantee it!

More fuel makes engine go boom boom.

They did make a point of talking about both the twincharged engine and then later the fact that you can add anti-lag as an upgrade in the Monthly livestream. I also know in 4 the car acted like it just had a turbo. So itā€™s all a giant question mark as far as Iā€™m concerned.

In the interest of fairness, it is a very unique situation as far as cars go, and I doubt they had much access to one beyond just taking photos. Dirt Rally 2.0 does do a proper power curve for the car, but that game also has a fraction of the car list that FH5 has and also doesnā€™t need to worry about things like car upgrades.

Unfortunate, but it might be one of those programming wrinkles where the work to get this car exactly right would mean delaying multiple other cars in the pipeline.

That was really interesting and makes me feel better about the Fulvia returning down the road. No pun intended.

Looking forward to what the improvements to event lab are. Itā€™s currently my favourite feature of the game. I love seeing playersā€™ creativity and would love to be able to find them more easily.

Although, matchmaking for arcade is still my #1 request. Itā€™s never coming is it?

@T10ManteoMax Do you know if the doubling of the available save slots will only concern cars, liveries and tunes or if this also includes vinyls? Iā€™m asking because not only me is at the 500er limit there, too.

Iā€™ll pass that question to the team on Monday.

Itā€™s been a looong wait so I am glad the Italiens arrivesšŸ˜€
And the save slotsā€‹:+1: but that dlc pack is disappointing. No Lamborghini countach LPI800-4, no Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio GTA. :frowning:

I also noticed that one of the tasks in the next series is to take a photo of your car at the Horizon Apex Output [sic!]

most electronics these days handles 120V and 240V happily, check the small print on the console though

UK is not the same as rest of Europe regarding sockets, either; not particularly surprising that weā€™re different

most of Europe uses the same socket but I did have trouble when I visited Sardinia (only bit of Italy Iā€™ve visited), some plugs did not want to go into some of the sockets

After it was revealed as the first series reward, it looks like everybody is trying to offload their SVJs. I donā€™t really understand their thought processes here. Itā€™s only 80pts, so odds are most people can get it free. I canā€™t imagine theyā€™re going to get that many buyers with the 20 mil price tag.
