Is there a forced ultrawide mode in the forums now?

For whatever reason I now have a scroll bar in the bottom of the screen. But I browse the forums with the same browser (Brave) like I always do, with the same monitor resolution (1920x1080) etc. I also tried it with Google Chrome and it’s the same.

It’s regular 100% zoomlevel so no zooming in or out.
If I scroll all the way to the right, it looks like this.

Please take a look at it. This is weird, I never had this problem before. My browsers are up to date, windows is up to date, drivers are up to date etc.

Hi @T10ManteoMax . Please investigate this issue. I have this bug as well.
Thank you. :slightly_smiling_face:

Not only is the site seemingly wide enough for 4k, but the left sidebar is ever-present. Previously on threads and a few other areas it wasn’t visible.

They moved the “New Topic” button back to where it was, but the scrollbar is still down there.

Bumping

Hello @T10ManteoMax. Please investigate this issue and fix it. Thank you for your attention. :slightly_smiling_face:

Hello,

Back in April they was redesigning the forum and trying different things. I reached out to max back then about a similar issue. I was seeing the same and also more functions.

Suggested fix
I wouldn’t worry and try the steps below that Max suggested. Could probably benefit from a browser cleanup- cookies, cache, history ect. Then try logging in again.

That was from testing a new navigation system. We now have Category and Subcategory dropdowns above topic views which should make it easier to navigate the forums on mobile.

Thanks for letting us know. There are some cases where a setting change can cause the forums to look odd until the user refreshes their browser. Please try closing out your browser and opening it again to see if this issue persists. If it does, we may have a spacing issue to look at.

Unfortunately since then we had a software update that caused issues with the dropdown navigation, so that had to be removed, and haven’t been able to dive into further fixes. At this time, solving the wide display issue is something we want to do but have to put aside for higher priorities. In the meantime if there is some more serious display issue with loading pages etc that’ll be something we want to hear about so we can correct it.

Others who experienced this please check after September 17th and let us know if you’re still seeing the issue with display size.

As part of the fix, we have also restored the Category and Tag dropdown navigation across the top of the category view. This may seem redundant to the left side bar but is useful to filtering topics before sorting them.

Hi @T10ManteoMax . This bug still appears when going to these pages:

Those category topics now look as they should for me. Which browser and screen size are you using? Does it persist after closing your browser and then opening those categories?
