Is there a better way to purchase the Nascar Expansion?

I’ve never encountered a situation where it’s difficult to give a company my money for a product. While I didn’t go full Sherlock Holmes with my investigation, I did search through for roughly 15min trying to find how to purchase the Nascar expansion from the store. I managed to locate every version/bundle of FM6 but nothing else. Even through ForzaHub the 7 pages of info on the expansion was there but not a single link that would carry me to the store so I could make the purchase. Just like when the Porsche Expansion launched it seems the only way to purchase is going through the marketplace once in game. The problem is you cannot launch the game until the update is applied and for some with slower than average internet that poses a problem. I launched the game early this afternoon and began the update process of 1.2gb and I was hoping that included much of the Nascar data due to it’s size. That was not the case as now that I’m finally home and able to access the game I’m faced with another 2gb download that could have been happening all afternoon had I been able to purchase outside of the game.

I know this might not be completely T10s problem but there needs to be a way to simply launch the store, navigate to Forza 6 and purchase from there. I could have had it in my download queue and been well over halfway done.

You’re thinking about TWO seperate issues mate.

First is the need for the game to have a Content Update before any expansion pack or DLC.

This is to install various files that support the new DLC/Expansion Pack. These would include things like “fixes” to prior issues where possible. To ad items into the game across the board that support not only the new content, but also add those features to the game where the new content is concerned.

On average, most CU’s are between 1-2gig in size. The addition of both the May CU and the Expansion Pack plus the Porsche Pack and the recent DLC take the game size to in excess of 55gig. Probably one of the biggest game dozes I’ve seen recently. (Anyone else know exact size and whether other games are bigger?)

Secondly, you then must ad the actual DLC/Expansion Pack. All expansions are NOT the same as DLC Packs, and are offered as an option at the opening of the game in the first instance and given the option to “continue” (to the normal game) or to More Info/buy Pack.

Failure to that, the Expansion Packs are located in the Options Section where you see Car Packs, VIP, Car Pass, Porsche Expansion and now NASCAR Expansion Pack.

So if you pass up on the initial OPTION at the very start of the game, immediately after the installation of the CU, you then have to option to purchase it through the Options Section via the Main Hub (where you’d find such things as Forza TV, Mod Cards etc.)

It’s always been that way, and reasonably straight forward actually.

It can be a tad confusing IF. You think along the lines that it could be a Car Pack aka Monthly DLC Pack, and click on that and not see it in there. That can be a bit misleading.

But it’s prior to that, at the same screen the Car Packs are accessed from, to,the far right of the menue screen.

Hope that explains it.

There’s no way of getting around loading BOTH. Items separately.

One MUST Z be loaded and then activated ( by booting up,the game) prior to purchasing the actual game content, be that the Porsche or NASCAR Expansion packs.

Not sure if all that helps.

I found it easily enough this morning, do it should be easy…hehe

I bought it through the glass app on my phone. Went to store and searched forza nascar. Downloaded it before I got home.

I did the same, and it was waiting for me when I got home.

I have to say, even on an iPhone, that SmartGlass app works quite well.

Have to agree with the couple of posts above

The Smartglass app is easy to use to buy addons for games for the xbone

If i dont use that i use the xbox.com website which is easy too
But never had any issues buying ingame as well

Guys the CU readies the game to receive new content such as new cars and tracks. So the first thing you do is download the CU to ready your version of the game to receive the new content, such as the NASCAR expansion pack. Once onboard, you’ll have access to the expansion pack to purchase it.

That’s what I get for not going full on Sherlock. I never once thought about going through the Smart Glass app and that sounds like it would have completely solved my problem. Thanks!

Not to be contrary or anything, but I downloaded the NASCAR ex pack before the CU. There was a little ad in the upper right on the home page, I clicked on it, d/l the pack, then went into the game which, of course, immediately launched into the CU. All worked, everything is there.
