Serious question… Is this the last piece of environment content aside from additional car packs?
I loved the base game, and Blizzard Mountain grew on me a little bit. But the Hotwheels Expansion has transformed FH3 into some form of Mario Kart for my kids. I have lost the desire to play it, or even the base game now.
I bought FH3 Ultimate edition recently and then all DLC passes and packs - I didn’t know the second expansion was going to be HW.
After trying the intro events - I knew the HW part of the game was not for me at all, total nonsense - the new cars are always welcome but the “Thrilltopia” idea is silly.
Thankfully you can still play the base game off/online and have fun, plenty of people are in the same boat, anyone over the age of 12 won’t touch the HW DLC unless they want achievements
Uhm…I’m well over 12, don’t give a **** about achievements and I’m enjoying the expansion quite a bit. I’ll still play the main game and blizzard mountain just as much.
You clearly have no sense of fun. Oh no they added silly hot wheels stuff where you can ride on loops!
Did you know the majority of GTA online players do nothing but stunt races which are just like this? You know why they do it?
It’s called letting yourself go for a while and just having some fun with the game.
My God this has to be the absolute saddest thread I’ve ever seen…ever… anywhere.
Anyone complaining of this expansion must be an incredibly unimaginative and boring person to be around. Thank God I don’t know anyone so…old. you all sound like you are in your 90s.
Which is fine because it means the whaaaaaambulance will be coming for you soon. Hopefully they add it to a carpack afterwards.
I don’t know if you have been living under a rock or have purposely blocked out all positive comments about the expansion but this was just ignorant.
By people in the “same boat” as you I assume you mean those that haven’t actually tried it or tried it after telling everyone you were going to hate it and intended on following through with that. Loop-the-loops in a Forza game isn’t for everybody but that doesn’t mean you have to knock everyone that actually likes it.
I was initially brought to Forza because GT had gotten “too realistic” with the tire physics simulations, and being unable to get any traction at speeds under 100mph with anything over 400hp quickly sucked the fun out of the game. Forza balanced the fun and realism in a way no other franchise has. Horizon has always been more geared towards the fun aspects, and the Hot Wheels expansion is here to remind us of that. I’m rapidly closing in on the big “Four-Oh” and I have been enjoying the expansion for all of the over-the-top antics it delivers. When I want to take a break from the craziness, I travel back to the main map or Blizzard Mountain.
To answer the OP’s question, though: I don’t expect any more expansions, but I’d welcome them!
Twenty-seven, don’t care about achievements, having a laugh with the DLC.
Clearly I’m not as mature and grown-up as you, but I appreciate the over-the-top fun of driving around gigantic plastic loops and jumps as much as the more serious (if still arcadey) main game.
Nobody knows, you guys keep asking questions that you know you will not get an answer from Turn 10. They never release details of what their future plans are. There could be more but they are not going to say and nobody here knows, so why bother asking?
I myself am torn on it… but not for the reasons one thinks. I love the concept, and will enjoy it more as time goes on, but for me, its frustrating as there is less grip (as there should be, after all, the roads are plastic) and i suck at drifting. But i will adapt and over come. what i have been doing is playing a little each night on it, and then going to the mainland to tear up the asphalt…
that reminds me, i need to finish blizzard mountain too…
I like to race in Forza for the realistic specifications in the game…better than Gran Turismo, Need For Speed, or Midnight Club.,…when it comes to realism…especially in the Motorsport games…but just like the Top Gear challenges with the bowling, Beat the Stig, the chase, and the passing one …it brings fun to the game and with every installment, Horizon has stepped up to bring more excitement…if you want more realistic racing, that is what Forza Motorsport 6 is for…I am in my 40’s and I am enjoying the Hot Wheels expansion because I still collect Hot Wheels…I love cars…I have loved cars since I was a kid…imagination is something that should never be out grown…I work at a highly stressful job in Washington Dc…my daily commute by car , subway, or bus is always a chore by itself…Forza Horizon 3 has helped me blow off a lot of steam after work and on my days off!
I mean, nobody has said there won’t be a third expansion, but if there is, it would give this game the most post-launch content of any Forza game quite easily.
Realistically we’ll still see car packs and Forzathons but the big reveals will be centered on Forza Motorsport 7, which is highly anticipated to be revealed next month.
All I’m hoping for is the few Australian cars that should be in the game but aren’t yet like the HK Monaro, LJ XU-1 Torana and XC Falcon Cobra. I doubt we’ll get them though.
I got a serious question back… Would you even appreciate any additional expansions?
Hmmm… I must be under 12 then at heart as I came to this forum to basically say that HW final event might be the best track I’ve ever raced in any game. And I mean that from Pole Position to any of the classic that came afterwards.
No. This isn’t the end of FH3 for me anyway. Quite the opposite, it’s made me want to continue playing to get my platinum star as the main game was becoming very repetitive barring doing forzathons and haven’t been back to BM since I completed it ages ago.
I mean no disrespect, but I think you’ve never played a Mario kart, or it’s been so long you just forgot what it’s like. Yes, HW has a few boost pads and loops, but that’s where the similarities end. I’ll even give you the fact that the orange tracks are very brightly colored, and You’d still be way off.
Unless there’s a dlc that I missed that adds weapons/mystery boxes, makes the control and phsyics waaaay more forgiving, has anti gravity sections, let’s you control your vehicle in the air…in other words, a dlc that turns it into, you know, a KART game?
