Seriously, when is enough going to be enough? Have you played any other Motorsport other than FM7 or this one? I mean let’s break this down:
Game company makes game.
Game gets good feedback from consumers.
Game gets beaten by consumers, so game company releases another game.
People notice that game #2 is way off the mark of Game #1.
Okay, stop playing but let’s say:
Game company makes game.
Game gets good feedback.
Game gets beaten by consumers so game company releases 5 more games over the corse of 8 years all getting beaten with positive feedback.
Game company has loyal fanbase that’s been there 12 years then game company releases game #7.
People realize that something is off about game #7 compared to the last 6 so they give constructive criticism about game #7.
Game company releases game #8 after they said they listened to the criticism and they’re taking 6 years to make sure game #8 is the best game yet.
Game #8 comes out and consumers who’ve played Games 1-6 and critiqued 7 say that Game #8 feels off like game #7. Not only does it feel off, but it has bugs that the 7 games before it didn’t have, 100’s of them, and it falls short of the company’s claims.
Loyal fanbase that waited 6 years and spent their money have access to forums to discuss the game, and at this point it’s been 18 years.
What do you think people are going to talk about?
I haven’t heard of a bad Forza Motorsport until FM7 came out, and now this. I’ve played 6 of the 8.
My basic logic behind why this game has been received poorly is this:
Compared to Forza Motorsport 1, and 4-6, this isn’t a good game as it is. Things need to improve, and the regulars you see here are trying to do just that. That’s why you see the criticism. Compared to the previous installments of this game that we’ve enjoyed (Bar FM7) this one falls short, and we’ve all come to a general consensus as to why that is.
So we’ve taken advantage of the community forums, and critiqued the game so that hopefully T10 will listen and improve their products moving forwards.
As a loyal consumer, I want to see this game succeed, but if not then it’s been a ride. It deserves a documentary. I want to know all the details as to why it died a horrible death.
