I haven’t played a Forza since the xbox 360 days. I used to enjoy it, but I think I only ever played a Forza for more than a few days lol. What I really want to know is how big is the community now? Is there any place for really competitive people like myself? And can anyone give me an idea of what you’re supposed to do on the game? (Like how to get cars, upgrades, and unlock tracks.) thanks in advance to anyone who takes their time to answer my questions lol
Depends on what ur planning to get it for. I got forza 7 cuz me and my friends got hooked on forza 5 doing private lobby matches with like 14 ai cars and it was loads of fun but forza 7 removed that feature so now private lobbies are just u and your friends no ai which is a huge bummer, multiplayer is a bit chaotic with half the racers being formula 1 pro drivers that u can never win against and then there are the players who just try to ram everyone. Another note is ur kinda limited on what vehicles u can use online. Ill admit single player is fun tho its just i mainly got the game to play with me and my friends and we havent played the game in over a month. Been waiting for an update that will add the ability for ai in private lobbies. Unlocking cars is done by rank and the way u upgrade ur rank is by buying cars… good news is that its really easy to make big money in Campaign is u do long races! But yea hope this helps
based off what you said, i would have to say, that for you the answear is no.
Painting, tuning and racing communities have all dwindled compared to the Xbox 360 generation, as each successive title has either made certain tasks more difficult, less worthwhile or removed features entirely.
There are some hardcore players still about and the occasional “fresh blood” but things aren’t as vibrant as they once were.
Leaderboards are no longer as useful as they once were, and competitive Multiplayer is currently unavailable.
If you want to take your racing seriously you’re going to have to look into private racing leagues and organisations as there is currently very little in-game for players like yourself.
All tracks are available to you immediately.
Upgrades are freely available provided you have enough CR to purchase them.
Cars are a bit hit and miss, hard to explain succinctly here. You can rent any car in the game but about 20% of the game’s cars cannot be bought, and must be won from events or promotional activities.
Currently FM7 is not worth purchasing. It’s still mostly broken.
Its not a sim so as far as competitiveness its not there. The only skill you need on line is how to avoid people trying to wreck you out. Its an arcade driving game.
You know what. No, don’t buy it unless you want to be really disappointed and enjoy dealing with a game developer that has become so secretive that they won’t even tell you when to expect key games features or how they will be implemented 2 months in. I’m tired of waiting and getting really tired of this game in the state it is in. It would have been better had they just added 4 free tracks to 6 and had more car packs. Forza needs to be subscription based like iracing. It would make a lot more sense than designing an entire new game and than nerfing it. I hear PC2 is on sale, perhaps that game is actually finished. I’m sorry to have to post something like this but I’m at the end of my rope with the way Turn 10 has been treating us. It’s completely underhanded and unprofessional. The worst it has ever been since I started playing Forza.
In one word : no
If you don’t care about multiplayer at all, maybe. If you care about multiplayer at all, absolutely not.
it’s good, get it
I play it everyday since the prelaunch and i’m enjoying it.
Don’t bother game ruined by some idiot that suggested homolagation(wrong spelling I’m sure)then a bigger idiot letting it go ahead, restricting what you can rival then shoving a load of naff multiplayer lobby’s in our faces.
There’s no communication from turn10 as to what’s going to happen about features or anything else for that matter.
But if you like earning different race suits to look good at the end of a race go for it just wait a month and it’ll probably be in the games for gold section because they know what they’ve done to the game so best chance to recover is to give it away free and hope some poor twit buys the dlc lol
This is probably the worst place you can ask this question. It’s just asking all the salty forum bittervets to unleash on you. It is the second highest rated Xbox One racing game after Horizon 3 and according to GTPlanet, even outsold Gran Turismo Sport in the UK recently where racing games sell better than they do here, so… you be the judge. I like it, but I’m only one opinion. Most of the negative metacritic comments were centered on crates which really don’t impact how you actually play this game.
-k
Are you only going to play multiplayer or are you interested in the career? If you’re expecting clean racing you probably won’t see much of it online.
Looking at Metacritic, FM7 is tied for the second lowest rated Xbox One Forza with FH2 and only beats FM5. It’s also the lowest rated by users. A lot of reviewers are useless anyway, so obsessing over review scores never really achieves anything.
Even though Gran Turismo Sport does some things well, it’s a slap in the face for longtime fans and got punished for the direction it took.
Thats just rubbish, so the worst place to ask that question is on the official Forza forums? lol
Thats just hypocritical because thats exactly what you do with people that have negative views on the game.
Doesnt matter, the game is still rubbish and the multiplayer which is the main part of Forza is pretty much ruined. Shame cause the game does have some good points in terms of physics and so on.
You enjoy it because of the single player, those that seem to be enjoying the game are the single player people…those that enjoy multiplayer dont enjoy it so much as multiplayer is a joke.
The negative views are 100% justified, if you dont agree then go and enjoy the game and leave those that dont enjoy it to try and get their views across. Not that Turn 10 listen anyway. Since i started playing Forza, this is easily the worst Forza of them all. I remember Forza 4 which had millions of players on the leaderboard (per track, not overall) and lots of great racing online…since then its just gone downhill with Turn 10 changing what didnt need changing. Thats fact.
@OP If you prefer single player, then this is the game for you. If you prefer multiplayer, then this is 100% not the game for you, save your money.
If you are a single player person and like some progression and grinding, you may like it. Just a fair warning that the game is laggy. It doesn’t run as smooth as other Forza games. A quick example is scrolling through cars is very slow and may take a bit for some cars to show up.
As for multiplayer, it’s bad. Real bad. The vast majority of cars cannot be used online due to restrictive lobby settings. If you like tackling leaderboards, you’ll also find that this feature has been butchered.
There are no competitive outlets in Forza, yet.
Single Player is good? Is this what you want to say?
Some Examples? Read 90% of the Treads here. The Game could be made by the North Korean´s. Dictatorship in America. Sorry Mod i know you’re over the “closed” button again but the whole thing is up to you guys and your behavior towards us
Single player career is good.
Single player forzathon is good, not great, but at least something else to do.
Single player free play has issues to put it mildly.
Overall single player is good. Once you finish up career, replayability will likely suffer; especially if achievements aren’t something you care about.
I like the game.
Yes there are some thing that could have been done better, but overall i think its fun, and much better than Forza 5 and 6.
I play almost only single player. The carreer mode is for the most part well done. It has a nice flow and feel of progresion. The fact that you can chose longer races makes it much better than forza 5 & 6, because you dont have to force your way through the field to win in 3 laps.
The AI is also sort of weird. On some tracks it is very hard to win on higher dificulties because the AI cars have some sort of boost to their speed at straight. Also they will ram you and stuff like that. But i think most racing games have these isues more or less I dont think people really understand how hard it is to Code AI.
Multiplayer is a mess, but that is not the games fault. The people who ram everyone in multiplayer are also in every other racing game
I also miss rivals a lot. its a real shame they dident put that in. Im still hoping they will patch it in at some point.
But overall I think the game is pretty good, for me it is certanly the best Forza on Xbox one.
To be completely honest with you, it doesn’t sound like Forza 7 has what you are looking for. It is quite a different direction from FM3 and FM4. As mentioned, this results in a dwindling of sub-communities within Forza (racing, tuning, painting). There are still remnants of community (bounty hunter, rivals, contests) but rivals and leaderboards have been tweaked, seemingly for the worst.
Multiplayer is a tragedy and leagues are not available yet so hard to comment on that.
My personal opinion, the game works for me. My needs are simple, I enjoy experiencing cars, all cars. If I sit here and think about an old Astra I used to own, I can jump into Forza and (provided the game doesn’t crash) relive what it was like to drive it. Forza is good like that. Same as if I see a nice car driving around, I can hop on Forza and see what it is like to drive. Single player is also good, it gets the job done. Forzathon adds more things to do, which is never a bad thing.
Overall, if you are looking for something similar to FM4, you won’t find it here.
