Thanks, of course I take into consideration FM5. I know it’s a great game with a very realistic physics but it didn’t convince me to buy xbone after I heard there will be no rain and a small amount of cars and tracks (comparing with FM4 for instance). Now the things have changed. On top of FM5 there is Horizon 2 which has great reviews and as many of you say it’s worth to buy the new console.
Now the question about Horizon 2 handling physics.
With the most realistic settings (simulation on, traction off, stability off etc.) is it any close to FM5 handling physics?
No. Some hotlappers might disagree but I would say FH2 doesn’t even come close. Want a percentage? Fine, depending the car/surface, FH2 only manages 60% of the FM5 experience.
You havin’a laff? There is no game on any console yet that can even come close to Project Cars (allegedly) when it comes to realism & physics. So, how came to mind naming FH2, PGR4 and PCars in one sentence as comparison/buying-advice?
I was going to buy the 360 version, but then decided to buy the xbox one version along with the console. I considered it an investment. Sooner or later the old systems will be eclipsed. So why not buy now when there is such an excellent game to start off your collection?
Horizon 2’s physics are still tweaked to allow more aggressive driving although they are closer to Forza physics this time that FH1. That said, I think Horizon 2 is the best open world racing game out there at the moment, and highly recommend it. I believe this is the first game I’ve played on the X1 to truly showcase what we can expect from the next generation of gaming.
Also, on the Xbox One in general, it is not the same system it was at the end of last year. The last few updates have made it much better. Aside from the Forza series, I’ll add that after a year’s worth of patches Battlefield 4 now runs smooth with 32-64 players.
I love Forza Horizon 2 and Forza 5 but would buying an Xbox at full price be worth it? No. I sold all my 360 stuff to buy this console with Forza 5 for around $60. Anybody can try and spin whatever they want on the console but at the end of the day it’s just outdated technology that isn’t worth the full price. I mean Horizon 2 and Forza 5 already have framerate issues that just drop out and we are just beginning this generation which worries me. I never noticed those kind of issues on the 360. Hoping the release of the next DirectX helps the Xbox out more. If you don’t pay anywhere near retail it is worth it.
That is such a personal decision, worth means different things to individuals.
Having said that, the XB1 itself has changed the way I do home entertainment, that I would not have found if I hadn’t broken my cable remote control, and forced to use the XB1 to navigate TV. Opened up a slew of features like snap, twitch, upload, etc.
The games are becoming secondary (dunno whether that’s good or bad lol) but I am getting my monies worth for sure. I even got Kinect Sports Rivals, lol.
At the end of the day, if you buy an Xbox One you can play MANY games on it not just FH2, if your a gamer and still on the 360 I say go for it, spend some cash
Despite having some issues i would say YES!! Forza is what brought me over from a certain other console. As for people crying over older consoles, upgrade to a next gen! Theres a reason they have more to offer, its coz theyre better and the way forward!! Those of us old enough to remember the old days appreciate everything has bugs, dont cry bout it! Give feedback and be patient!
Horizon 2 is a good game but if your unsure maybe playing a demo of it on the xbox one maybe in store somewhere might answer your question before you spend the cash.
If you are a Forza fan this is a no brainer. This is simply the most fun driving game I have ever played! I bought a XBO just for this and Forza 5. Worth every penny.
I was a Playstation guy. WAS. My brother gave me his Xbox 360 before he went overseas with the Army. I went out and bought Forza 4 and was hooked to the Forza game. I planned on buying a PS4 but then I found an amazing deal on an Xbox One from a friend who was selling his. I decided to give it a try. I bought Forza Horizon 2, Titanfall, and Shadow of Mordor. FH2 is blowing me away. It is freakishly addictive and crazy fun. So many elements of the game are exciting. This is a genuinely fun car game. It reminds me of the first few Midnight Club titles (that is, the excitement of the game, not the style). This game has made me a car game lover again. I feel like a kid in a candy shop every time I turn it on. Also, the Xbox One version is scary good looking. It truly feels next-gen. Get it, dude, and never look back.
I say go for it. I bought my Xbox One just because I wanted FM5. Plus with the One you can stream Netflix, Hulu, watch YouTube, download and install games without ever leaving your couch or putting your beer down. I can sync my iPhone to my Xbox and watch YouTube on my tv through my phone. Plus with kinnect you can just tell it what you want to do. It really is a great console.
