Has anyone tried it yet today after the patch?
Still there
I’m having the same problem with the grinding noise as others have explained here.
I’m playing on PC. I have t300rs and th8 shifter.
It has been the same since Horizon 1…
Never had that problem in FH3 …
Made a ticket 5 days ago and the status is still “Open”.
Really hope they respond soon as in tomorrow.
Very curious about what they will say about this!
Will they say its a known bug/problem and its worked on or already implemented in the next patch.
Will they be lazy and just say its intended to work that way??
Don’t know if it’s just me but just fired up the game and it’s fixed!!! No grinding noise at all even without depressing the clutch!
Hate to say it but I was in the Titan HE and no noise switched to a different car noise is back. I’m baffled
Tested on several cars in the onboard view and i can hear this useless grinding even when no gear is selected.
Just press the clutch while standing in neutral and after releasing it the grind sound appears…
Also the sliders in settings do not change anything.
PC version, Thurstmaster TS-PC + Fanatec Clubsport V3 Pedals + Thrustmaster TH8A Shifter
Just an update, my support ticket was closed, and I was informed this issue was acknowledged and being investigated. They will update the forums (This thread? New sticky?) when it is resolved.
Take that as you will.
Good to know that they are working on it.
My ticket is still open and its been 6/7 days now, and i will keep it open and hope i get the same awnser!! ;D
Still having this issue on Xbox w/ a G920
11 days and the ticket is still open still no word!
big vacation i take it goddam
SO…if you’re feeling adventurous, you can try modifying the controls file like I did to manually set the deadzone of your clutch, since this slider is OBVIOUSLY broken in the game facepalm
Basically, make any change to your controls in the game and save them. This will make the controls file in Windows the last modified file in the directory.
Now, navigate to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.SunriseBaseGame_8wekyb3d8bbwe\SystemAppData\wgs\0009000002652924_000000000000000000000000765B6743
Sort by “Date Modified”, then select the first folder with a string of numbers as the name. It SHOULD contain your controls file. Open the the file named with a string of numbers (not the container file). It should be roughly 119KB in size.
Now, scroll down to the section that begins with: <RawGameControllerInputMappingProfile Id=“9600c3da-05af-4c08-9f55-8d920f181470” UserFacingName="IDS_CustomWheelProfile_1
Find the line with , and at the end shows IsPrimary=“1”
I set the outside deadzone to .60 (60%).
I ALSO changed the first line under to the same value, but I’m not sure if this makes a difference or if this is the actual line needing changing. I did both just to make sure.
Now, my clutch fully engages by 60% pedal travel, and I no longer have any grinding on up/down shifts. This does not effect the neutral grind, however.
Hope that was somewhat easy to follow.
The file is unreadable
There will be multiple folders with similar contents. The controls file would probably be the only one actually readable. Remember to make a change to your controls within the game to make it the last modified file. If that doesn’t work, you might have to do some searching.
I’m bored of having to drive my simulator in automatic so I dont have to listen to the awful grinding sounds. Has anyone found out anything from the developers at all regarding this issue?
I love both forza franchises but their ability to communicate is at best 1/10.
Hello,
I just wanted to give you an update and let you know that this is a known issue and we are currently investigating. We will post an update to the support page once this matter is resolved.
Thank you for letting us know!
GUYS, I FOUND A WORKAROUND: the grinding only happens on the standard Logitech G920 layout, no matter what deadzone settings you use, it always grinds.
You have to create a new layout (I’m using “Custom Wheel Profile 1”) and map all the buttons and axis yourself, and also set a sensible clutch deadzone (I’m using 10 inside and 85 outside, try other values, the deadzone magically works now) the grinding sound should FINALLY go away!
Good for you. Though I bet you will still hear a grinding noise when you are stationary in neutral and you release the clutch.
This does not fix my Fanatec Clubsport V2.5 as I have been using a custom wheel profile since day 0.
Issue still exists, this workaround is not applicable for many…
A fix for this issue when using the Logitech G920 is listed in the Release Notes for the December 13 content update:
