IndyCar cars in paint booth are broken

I was working on the Alonso Indy 500 paint scheme, till I discovered that the sections in the paint booth are so poorly divided. You can’t paint the side of the car on the back end without messing up and painting over the sidepods. Same thing happens at the front: you can’t paint the sides of the front wing without painting the sides of the car itself. It’s an absolute broken mess. Sidepods, front wings, the actual side of the car, the rear wing… All of those sections have to be separated. I hope this gets fixed immediately. It’s impossible to make any decent paint scheme, replicas or made up, right now.

I’m no expert when it comes to making liveries, but I seem to recall applying decals to the Indycars being a bit of a challenge in most if not all of there appearances.

Yeah, I was afraid this would happen. Turn 10 seems to really struggle with overlapping UV maps on open-wheel cars. A fix for this would be great, if possible.

The Ford Hawk’s wings are unable to be painted too.

Thanks for pointing this out. The team is aware and working on a fix for release at a time TBD.

I race in an Indy racing league and we are required to make our own liveries, including a throwback scheme for the Indy 500. Needless to say, we have been frustrated with how broken it is to design a car. Thank you for listening and we hope you can find some solutions soon!

I am glad to see this response from Turn 10 and the Forza Community Team. With that being said I hope this will extend to other cars as well, like fixing the ability to paint and place decals on Some Cars’ “B” posts. rear spoiler and window decals. Thanks again and thanks for listening.

The side & top dynamics are a pain.

I have 3 liveries on the new 2019 Indycars
Nigel Mansell 1993 - #2 Chevy
Sebastien Bourdais 2018/19 Sealmaster - both Hondas
Senna Test Marlboro Penske - #22 Chevy

Trying to blend the sponsor decals decals on the top & side dynamics were a right pain, but I got there in the end.

Also some of the side engine cover dynamics would show up on the rear tyre side fender wall & the top of the front wing sidewalls show on on the side of the nose, which are very annoying.

Is this not the same problem as the F1 car?

A lot of cars have the same problem.
