Hey guys a collective list of cars with glitched areas will be very helpful and save some, if not all of us a lot of time.
Here’s what we’ve noticed so far:
2008 Dodge Viper ACR- black area on front bumper unpaintable, changes with base color but no layer cover up.
Will post coordinates for placing vinyl on the sides of the rear spoiler later.
Evo x- Unable to place vinyl on the left side skirt, instead it mirrors what ever you put on the right side skirt.
Nissan Silvia- Any vinyl placed on side skirt bleeds on to the lower part of the door before it even reaches the door line. Haven’t yet tested if it can be covered with another piece of vinyl.
Mitsi Evo 6- base colour bleeds into any vinyl placed along the edge of the bonnet on the front wing.
Toyota Trueno- Black trim cannot be painted.
2011 BMW Z4- vinyl shapes/groups that span from one side to another ex: left side to top do not appear lined up while racing but are fine any other time. In some cases they do not even appear.
Chevy Camaro ZL1- spoiler and back won’t accept any decals along its edges without feathering its base color or not appearing at all outside the paint booth.
2013 audi r8- near the front of the sides, there is a spot where it shows vinyl layers twice in different places.
Lotus E21- front wing end plates copy onto the front wing mounts, and the vertical aero pieces on the sidepods copy onto the side of the car.
Lotus Exige- Where rear bumper and right side meet a small sliver of bumper cannot be covered with a layer and shows through to the base color. Movements/adjustments to layers placed on the stock spoiler are mirrored.
'08 Viper:
You can’t put any vinyls over the front bumper in the middle (it will stay the body color you’ve selected), only the side sections of the front bumper. Crap, there goes my paint idea!
'09 Vette ZR1:
All vinyl groups on the front bumper are mirrored…
Ferrari F12
Right side
Base paint shows through under headlight join between right side and front
To left of wheel arches on right side base paint shows through
Decals put on front nose show through on front wing
Ferrari F40
Right side
Coordinates are severely off
Mitsubishi Evo 6
Right side
Base paint shows through various areas of the car from wheel arches to roof line
Subaru 22b
When changing wing the raised brake light persists no matter what wing is used or removed
Ferrari 250gto
Wheels poke through the bodywork when turned after race suspension added
Mazda RX7
Both sides
When graphics added they are moved down and do not match up with sides if skirt options are added
Lotus Exige S
Top
When adding the bonnet option any vinyls added to the area get offset to the right if looked at face on by about 8 notches.
Ford GT40 MKII
side panel on left and right does wonderful things, and front arch right side unpaid table area.
Evo 10
Stock side skirts inverses on right side
Silvia S15
Sideskirts pull graphics down and over (workable but not if the base graphics are heavy)
Toyota AE86.
Black paint around bottom half of whole car is unpaintable. Useless to anything but Initial D replicas.
Ferrari F40 & F50
Rear wing. Vinyls on rear wing show through on the body below.
I wonder if this is the same on all closed headlights. I tried to same thing on my BRE datsun 510. when i tried putting the valvoline and champion decals on the headlights, it mirrored to the other side. I tried to put a solid colored vinyl over the other side to cover it up, and it won’t even cover the mirrored image.
Maybe its me but the Chevy AA DW12 the front spoiler cannot take any graphics on the sides and the rear spoiler is a complete disaster with lettering on the front of the downforce wing shows through on the back and the sides show this crazy barcode looking graphic. AGAIN I am not a master so If i am posting this in error I apologize, and if there is a correct way please let me know. Thanks
The sides of the front wing on the #1 actually are paintable, but the graphics show up on the wrong side. You have to mirror a decal and place it at 421,-75 on the right , and -445,-61 on the left.
FYI…the “barcodes” on the right side of the rear wing are from the graphics on the top of the wing. Try reducing the size of the graphics and/or moving them rearward. And yes, the graphic on the upper wing is mistakenly duplicated on the lower. As far as I can tell, neither side of the large rear wing can be painted, except for the overflow “barcode”.
The Nissan GT-R R34 with the Abflug front bumper turns whatever you put on it backwards and inverts the controls. None of the other bumpers do that, only the Abflug one.
Rear wing plane can not be painted except for the “Forza Motorsport” text. A black vinyl kind of does the trick but the text still shows depending on lighting.
#62 Risi Competizione F458 Italia
Adding decals to the top of the front bumper will also show on the front splitter under it.
GMC Syclone
Same issue as the AE86… Black plastic sides and bumpers can not be painted or covered with vinyls.
#5 Ford Performance Racing FG Falcon
small area on the right of the front bumper can not be covered in vinyls.
That’s what happens when you reuse models from the previous games and just keep adding a few more polygons to them each iteration (and be sure to pretend they’re “built from the ground up” every new game)…
