[INCREASED] Garage/Paintjob/Tune Cap (1000 vehicles | 500 paintjobs/tunes)

UPDATE 8/26/2020:
Update 26 increased the garage size to 1000 cars; other filesave limits are unchanged.

UPDATE 3 (04/02/2019):
Earlier today an update for the game was released which increased the limits from 550 vehicles to 750 vehicles. The paintjob/tune limit was also increased from 300 to 500.
You can find the full changelog here.

UPDATE 2 (15/01/2019):
During yesterday’s (14/01/2019) Update 5 showcase stream the host of the stream mentioned that the devs are planning on releasing the increased limits update as a standalone update between Update 5 (released today, 15th of Jan) and Update 6 (released some time next month). This means that we’re hopefully getting the increased limits within the next month or so.
You can watch the full stream here.

UPDATE 1 (10/11/2018):
A Forza Staff member, JONK1969, has confirmed that the developers are working on increasing these limits. At the moment there is no ETA on when these increased limits will be available. There are also no news about how much the limits will be increased by, but it’s safe to assume that they will most likely match the limits that were in Forza Motorsport 7 (900 vehicles | 500 paints/tunes).
You can see their post here.

Is there any further confirmation about the garage limit in FH4 being 900 instead of 550? I saw the below quote posted in the “Max level on FH4?” thread but when I go to spin a Super Wheelspin the game tells me that I need to have atleast 3 free spots in my garage before I can spin it again, I’m currently at 550 vehicles in total. I put up a few vehicles for auction at the Auction House and went back down to 540, after reaching that number I was able to do more Super Wheelspins. I then reached 550 vehicles in total again and the game started giving me that same message when I attempted to do a Super Wheelspin.

Apparently the garage limit being 900 instead of 550 was confirmed during a live stream before the release of the game, but I guess something must’ve happened between then and now as the vehicle limit is definitely 550 and not 900.

Other limits that I’d like to ask about is the paintjob & tune limit, which currently is at 300 paintjobs/tunes in total. Supposedly this game has 521 vehicles as of right now, but with the paintjob/tune limit being set at that only 300 of them can have a custom paintjob/tune. How does that make any sense? Why does an open world racing game like this with hundreds of vehicles have so many limits? It makes absolutely no sense.

I thought there were about 450 cars in the game?

450 + 1 free car a month + 2 car pass cars a month + FE cars (Do these count as separate?) + duplicate cars for different classes / tunes / paints etc.

A 550 cap isn’t alot of leeway.

That’s not the point, liveries mean you might want to have multiple of one car in your garage.

Hmm, I’m not sure. I do have some duplicates that I’m trying to get rid of (the Auction House limit is making it slightly difficult) but I don’t think I have 100 duplicates in total

K’ current list has 521 cars

That would hit the limit in about 3 months if not sooner, then, with the added cars and such. Definitely a pressing issue, though it’s kinda nuts that someone already hit that wall.

What can I say, I just like vehicles :stuck_out_tongue:
But yeah, it really is. 550 vehicle limit in a game with 521 vehicles and more coming each month is very unusual. I’m really hoping that the first DLC next month (?) and its patch increase the vehicle limit

I’m also getting the message when I’m trying to collect the free vehicles for this week so the limit definitely is 550. Hopefully it’ll be increased to 900 soon

I also heard that the limit was going to be 900 during one of the streams. I’m nowhere near 550 but I really would hate to be in the same situation I was in with FH3 where I’m constantly trimming the fat off my garage every time a DLC comes out.

Indeed, 550 vehicles in total for a game like this doesn’t make any sense considering that we’re also going to be getting a lot of new vehicles from various DLCs/expansions in the future

Unfortunately this limit is still in place but it seems like the amount of vehicles you can sell at the Auction House has been increased from 10 vehicles a day to 24 vehicles a day

It seems like even after the update yesterday which fixed the Goliath money glitch, the 550 vehicle garage limit is still there
Also in other news, I came across another limit in this game, you can only have 300 paintjobs in total. So if the game has 521 vehicles in total at the moment, you can only have a custom paintjob on 300 of them. How does that make any sense?

550 car limit and 300 paintjobs in FH4.
300 limit for tunings in FH4?
900 car limit and 500 paintjobs in FM7.
500 limit for tunings in FM7.

Im angry about the tuning and paintjob limits, in the Forza Games, im okay with the car limit, as longs as i can have every car it’s okay.

Personally I wouldn’t have a problem with these limits either if they were the same as in FM7, like you mentioned the ones in FM7 are a lot higher than they are in FH4. But the limits currently in this game are just ridiculous for how many vehicles it has, and will have in the future

Yeah these limits are really ridiculous espicially paintjob and tuning limit, you reach those way too easily. Espicially tunes because the seasons, i would like to make winter and summer tunes all my favorite cars but my limit is full long before i have even tune to every car. I really hate when reach that point when have to start choose what tunes you want to share.

I can confirm that tune limit is also 300.

I’m struggling to make money and yet I was forced to delete 15 cars to make space for the outstanding auctions that failed to sell, because I was under the impression the FH3 Limit of 550 Cars had been increaed to match FM7’s 900 limit, and yet it hasn’t. RIP my cars and my balance sheet. We have TB drives and fast internet yet there are still limits you’d expect in early 2000s games. That’s a bit disappointing for 2018 in a AAA+ title.

I hit the paint limit today and have to say, it’s genuinely absurd. I’m now in a position where every car from now on that I win or buy from the auction house, I simply have to accept as it is. I wouldn’t mind as much if I was creating complicated designs and sharing them but I’m only choosing the colour! It’s frankly dreadful game design not to be able to save at least as many paintjobs as there are garage slots.

What happens when you put a car that has a design you created into the auction house, then delete the design from “my designs” and pull the car out of the auction?
Would that work as a loophole to keep painting cars while not using slots?
