This is where judgement comes into place in selecting cars. It’s a strategy.
If the lobby is sketchy, run a car built towards acceleration instead of grip. It’s not a full blown acceleration build due to grip needs but will accelerate better out of corners.
Grip tunes = death in lobbies like these. Grip cars usually don’t have great acceleration and instead rely on taking corners with little braking. This is trouble if you get stuck behind a slow guy and a rammer joins the party.
This is why I run less grip than most. I want that acceleration out of corners to break away. Some tracks you can’t run acceleration leaning tunes, but for many you can. Lap time wise I’m not much slower than an optimized build for the layout.
I always test the lobby for a few races to see what strategy I have to use.
