Hello, I haven’t spent a whole lot of time in the game yet so I’ll post any issues I find later, but for now I have an idea I wanted to share with you guys. I personally cannot drive outside of the cockpit view. I always end up turning too early or too late, I can’t get the timing right when I’m in chase view. But the problem with cockpit view is the visability. Our eyes have peripheral vision that right now isn’t accurately portrayed using a single monitor. And I honestly can’t make the field of view extremely wide because I hate the distortion that comes with it. So my idea is for an option while in cockpit view where the camera would not just point straight forward but would track important things like the apex of a turn. When I drive in real life I always look into my turns, I look out where I want the car to go and it goes there more naturally that way. I would like for the game to do that too, make it an option so those who don’t want that can keep it off. But I think it would be a good option to have.
It’ll serve two purposes. Not only should it help in normal turns, but if let’s say you get a bit too much oversteer in a turn, instead of staring at the side of the track like it is now, the view would look toward the direction you want the car to go, so you see the track ahead and you know how to pedal and steer the car to get it back on track.
What do you guys think? I think this would benefit those who like the cockpit view greatly.
Also, I know it’s the beta, but I hope when the full game launches, or for the upcoming Forza games that would be cross-platform, that you support most of the steering wheels already on the market. Don’t limit it too much, I love this game, but I’m WAY too poor to buy another wheel just for this game, would love to be able to use my Logitech G27 for this game.
